The train rumbled along, its windows shrouded in a layer of fog that obscured the world outside.

Inside the cramped restroom, Yu Zhizhi’s back was pressed against the glass window. Her rabbit ears twitched when she heard the startled cries of females outside.

An alarm instantly blared through all of Car Seven.

The piercing noise was incessant. Yu Zhizhi clutched the hem of Louis’s uniform, her head bowed and her shoulders trembling slightly.

Members of the Rabbit Clan were naturally timid. The slightest disturbance could send them into a panic.

Louis raised a hand and gently wrapped it around her shoulders, letting the small female lean against his chest.

Her petite form was completely hidden behind his, giving her an indescribable sense of security. The cool metal tag hanging from the front of Louis’s dark-green uniform brushed against her forehead.

Outside the door, Luther was talking to someone.

"It’s taken care of. A mutated moth species, three-point-two meters long. Its blood is green and extremely viscous. A crew member is taking a sample."

"...What?"

Luther’s voice grew heavy. "There’s another one?"

This wasn’t the only creature that had been classified as a dangerous species.

Unsure of the situation in the other cars, Luther pulled off his white gloves, now stained with green blood, and tightened his grip on the knife at his waist.

The mutated moth’s corpse had been carried away, but a pungent stench filled the car.

Soon, a gas was sprayed to eliminate the odor.

Through the door, Yu Zhizhi could barely smell the thick, nauseating stench from before. She slowly let out a breath of relief.

"Can we go out now?" she asked in a small voice.

Louis relaxed his hold slightly, putting a little distance between them. His expression was gentle. "Let’s wait a bit longer. Luther will come for you once the crisis is resolved."

Luther knew the little female rabbit was in the restroom.

He also knew Louis had gone to protect her personally at the first opportunity.

Now, having received firsthand intelligence that another, extremely powerful dangerous species was on the train, he couldn’t afford to be careless.

The train suddenly lurched to an emergency stop.

Louis looked at the small female. She was so delicate, with such soft skin, that a little bump like that looked terribly painful on her.

He propped his elbow against the glass, leaning in slightly. "What’s wrong? Let me see."

Yu Zhizhi lowered her hand slightly. Her small nose looked like a little strawberry. She pressed her lips together, her voice barely a whisper. "It’s nothing..."

At such close range, Louis could see her flawless skin. There was even a faint, downy fuzz on the young woman’s fair cheeks, making her look like a freshly ripened peach, white with a blush of pink.

Her rabbit ears would occasionally brush against his face, a light, ticklish sensation.

Louis remembered the first time he met her.

Louis’s focus returned. A slight smile played on his lips. "Hm?"

"The announcement... they were just telling everyone to go for screening..."

"Is that so."

Yu Zhizhi continued, "They’ve already screened through Car Four. They should be here soon. Should we... go out now?"

A faint smile touched Louis’s lips. "Why don’t you wait until they reach Car 7 before you go out, Miss?"

The young man turned sideways, took her by the shoulders, and moved her over to the side with the door. He then told her to hold on tight to the handle.

For her safety, he even placed a binding Spiritual Technique on the door handle.

It would ensure she wasn’t blown away by the wind.

Yu Zhizhi watched in confusion as Louis stood by the window. A dark green Light appeared at his fingertip, and he traced a complete circle along the window’s edge.

Cracks spiderwebbed across the glass. Then, the entire pane flew backward in one piece, vanishing from sight.

In that instant, a frigid wind blasted in, whipping Yu Zhizhi’s long hair into a frenzy.

The restroom window wasn’t large, but it was just big enough for a person to fit through.

Louis grabbed an iron ring above the frame with one hand and easily hoisted himself up, crouching in the opening.

"If Luther asks, tell him I had to take care of some personal business. I’ll be back within three days, guaranteed."

"Is it that urgent?"
