NO SECOND CHANCE, MY EX-HUSBAND

A few minutes later, the sound of a car roared into the yard. Lights reflected off the fancy windows. Mr. Smith and Mrs. Weasley got out of their fancy car in a hurry, their faces tense.

The housekeepers immediately opened the door as soon as they arrived.

"Where are they?" Mrs. Weasley asked, her voice trembling but firm.

"Mr. Sean locked himself in the room and beat Mrs. Clara, ma’am. We tried to help Mrs. Clara, but Mr. Sean became even more violent," one of the maids explained.

"Call the police! Sean has gone too far!" Mr. Smith was furious.

"Honey, don’t be rash. Sean is our son. If the police come, the reporters will surely come too. The reputation of our company is at stake," Mrs. Weasley pleaded.

Mr. Smith snorted. He immediately ordered several of his men to break down Sean’s door.

"Open the door and save my daughter-in-law! Sean is completely insane!"

It didn’t take long for Mr. Smith’s burly men to open Sean’s door. The door opened, and everyone rushed in to see Clara, who was already battered and bruised.

Sean froze when he saw his parents standing in front of him with angry looks on their faces.

"Sean!" Mr. Smith yelled.

"You really have no brain! How could you torture your wife like this!"

"Dad, I lost control." Sean tried to defend himself.

Mr. Smith hit Sean with all his might. He slapped his son’s cheek so hard that blood came out of the corner of Sean’s mouth.

"Don’t be such a rude man! You really have no shame! Father will settle the score with you!" Mr. Smith was really angry.

"Dad, I’m sorry." Sean wiped the blood flowing from the corner of his mouth.

"Sorry? Apologize to your wife who is almost dead after you beat her!" Mr. Smith snorted.

The man immediately ordered several people to take Clara to the hospital.

Clara looked weak, her eyes closed. Her face was covered in blood and bruises. Her lips were bleeding, and her nostrils were also bleeding. It looked like some of her teeth were broken.

Occasionally she blinked, looking at her mother-in-law sitting next to her, her face completely pale.

"Clara, dear... we’ll make sure you’re safe," said Mrs. Weasley briefly, her voice hoarse.

"Calm down, dear. Don’t be afraid. We’re here. I’m sorry we came late," she concluded.

Clara just stared weakly at her mother-in-law. Then, she exhaled and gasped for breath, then lost consciousness.

Clara was immediately rushed to the hospital.

"Quickly call Mrs. Diana. Tell her that Clara had an accident at home and is now being taken to the hospital. We have to tell her about her daughter’s condition. She has a right to know!" Mrs. Weasley ordered the head maid to call Clara’s mother.

"Yes, ma’am."

Sean sat down with his head bowed next to his father. His breathing was irregular. His hands were also covered in blood, which had stuck to his skin from Clara.

"What do you want?!" Mr. Smith asked with a fierce gaze.

"Dad, I’ve already told you that I never loved Clara. I only love you, Moana." Sean replied casually.

"And you got Moana pregnant? You really are like an animal!" Mr. Smith raged.

"How dare you tarnish the good name of this family with your uncivilized behavior! I will give you a fitting punishment."

"Dad, you can’t force feelings of love. Love is a natural feeling. And I never loved my wife."

"But that doesn’t mean you have the right to torture her to the point of death! You’re not God, who has the right to take human lives!" Mrs. Weasley retorted.

"Mom, didn’t I tell you that I never loved you, Clara? You never listened to my explanation. You two set us up because of a debt of gratitude." Sean smiled sardonically, as if mocking his parents.

He truly had no remorse whatsoever.

"You two are selfish! You never considered my feelings and always forced your will on me!" Once again, Sean protested to his parents.

"Shut up...!"

Mrs. Weasley immediately slapped Sean’s cheek in anger.

"Enough! Fix yourself! Stop blaming others all the time!" she shouted.

At the hospital, Clara lay weakly in her hospital bed. Her eyes were closed. Doctors and nurses worked quickly to stabilize her condition. Her body was covered in bruises, her lips were bleeding, her gums were torn, and her face was swollen.

Upon closer examination, the doctor discovered something unexpected: Clara had suffered a miscarriage. This condition was caused by the physical trauma and emotional stress she had just experienced.

"She is bleeding. And it turns out to be miscarriage blood. The patient is pregnant, about 4 weeks along," the doctor explained to Mrs. Diana.

"What?" Mrs. Diana was shocked. She looked at her daughter, who was still unconscious.

It seemed that Clara was also unaware that she was pregnant.

After that, the doctor called Sean and his family.

"Are you her husband?"

"Yes, Doctor."

"Your wife has suffered many injuries. She also experienced excessive bleeding. Two of her teeth are broken. Her gums are torn. She also has a deep wound on her head from the impact." The doctor took a deep breath before continuing.

"Then, we discovered another fact. It turns out your wife is pregnant. She is only four weeks along. However, your wife had a miscarriage due to physical and psychological trauma. The circumstances she experienced made it impossible to save the fetus," he concluded.

Mrs. Weasley was shocked when she heard the doctor’s explanation. Her mouth gaped open and her knees trembled.

Sean’s eyes widened. He had never thought about it that way.

"But, Doc. My wife always took birth control pills before we had a sex." Sean was nervous.

"What?! How could you tell your wife to take birth control pills? So that’s how you’ve been acting all this time!?" Mr. Smith became emotional again.

"Calm down, Sir. Let’s discuss this calmly." The doctor tried to calm the patient’s family down.

"Birth control pills are not 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. There are many cases like this. There are many pregnancies that occur even though the woman has been taking birth control pills regularly before intercourse," he concluded.

Sean froze. He felt his body go completely limp.

"Oh my God. So, she was pregnant? And now ... she’s had a miscarriage. Why did things get so complicated?"
