Generally speaking, Li Xiang’s house was on the west end of the village, on the outskirts. It wasn’t part of the "core area," so people didn’t usually come by to visit. It was a bit of a walk, and the elderly villagers found the trek tiring.

But today, several elderly villagers, both men and women, had come to visit together.
