Isn't It Love?

It had been fifteen minutes since Chloe joined the table where Daisy and Kai were sitting. The girl who was supposed to be working as a ’clown’ that handing out flyers at the mall had somehow decided to tag along, and had almost finished off Kai’s drink.

The two of them were really deep in conversation. Leaving Kai completely lost on what these two girls were talking about. Their topics shifted quickly, first talking about point A then switching to point B, Kai was totally clueless, clueless, not understanding a single thing.

Even though in his previous life he often hung out a lot with his girl friends, honestly when the girls started talking to each other, he gave up on thinking and went into pilot mode just nodding and agreeing what they chirping about.

"Girls who don’t need makeup are unbeatable—don’t you think?"

"Umm... I don’t use anything myself, maybe just lip balm."

"Ohhh~ I sometimes use it too..."

Kai just listened to Chloe and Daisy’s back-and-forth chatter. Eating his fries, he kept looking at Chloe’s super expressive face, and Daisy’s slightly shy face.

Haa... this is what normal high school life would be like if there weren’t any weird things happening

Kai rested his chin on his palm, finally a peaceful day after several days full of drama.

Sometimes people forget to be grateful for a quiet day where nothing happens. Until they get hit with non-stop problems that day.

Kai’s phone buzzed in his pocket, he checked who messaged him.

⌈Big bro not home yet? I’ve been waiting quite a while at home⌋

It was a message from Risa. His cute little sister really had gotten closer to Kai. Definitely as a sister... not anything else.

Kai sighed and typed the letters G.I.R.L and sent it, praying in his heart that his sister wouldn’t throw another tantrum.

Kai raised an eyebrow, seeing the words "on the way" clearly on his phone screen. No way Risa would actually come all the way here.

"Kai? Something wrong?" Daisy asked when she saw Kai exhale.

"You guys mind if someone else joins?"

Chloe and Daisy looked at each other, a bit confused by what Kai said.

"Who are you talking about?"

"Haa..." Kai took his cup of drinks that was sitting in front of Chloe, the drink had only 1/4 left, so he drank and finished it. "Ahh... who? My little sister."

"Ehh you have a little sister?!" Chloe said with a surprised tone.

"Yeah. I do."

"So why does she want to come here?" Chloe grinned and put her palm over her mouth, making a mocking gesture with that stupid expression. "Don’t tell me your sister has a brother-complex"

"Yeah... you could say that."

"Brother-complex?" Daisy asked confused.

"Hmm, you know when a sister likes her brother way too much."

Daisy glanced at Kai which made Kai a bit confused why this girl had to look at him.

"Ohh." Daisy clapped her hands and nodded once, seems like she was starting to understand a new term that was really not important at all from that idiot Chloe who always blurts things out. "You mean like Electra-Complex?"

"...Elec? What?"

Chloe squinted her eyes, she had never heard that term before. Meanwhile, Kai covered his face, confused about what was going on in Daisy’s brain that she could think like that.

Electra complex? Seriously?

Kai looked at that innocent girl, it was beyond reason that she knew such a complicated term. Seems like Daisy really did have daddy issues.

"Yeah, the concept is pretty much like that." Kai said while grabbing some fries and eating them.

Chloe also grabbed some of Kai’s fries and ate them, this girl really had no shame.

"Aren’t you supposed to be working."

"Come on, there’s probably only twenty flyers left that I haven’t handed out."

Daisy sipped her drink before her eyes caught a girl walking toward them. The girl approaching them stared at those two girls and one guy.

"Big bro... has two girlfriends."

"Friends." Kai stood up from his chair, grabbing an empty chair for his sister to sit on. "So why did you suddenly come here? I was about to go home anyway."

"Uhh... I was just curious."

Risa looked at the two girls in front of her, her head turning toward Daisy and Chloe alternately, which made them quite confused about how to start a conversation because Kai’s little sister was making faces like someone from HR.

"This is my sister, Risa Clove." Kai said.

"Nice to meet you hahaha. My name is Chloe Kalani, I’m your broski friend~"

"Umm... Daisy Marigold, I-I’m also your big brother... friend... I think."

Risa turned to Kai who responded with a small nod. Looking at the girl wearing the mascot costume, Risa sighed a little, for some reason that girl named Chloe’s expression was really clueless.

Her gaze then shifted to the girl who looked fairly normal. She was pretty with her long straight hair, unlike Chloe, this girl named Daisy seemed to fit.

"So... umm Daisy and... Chloe right?" Risa put her chin on her palm, crossing her legs with eyes like an untamed cat staring at those two girls. "Which one of you is dating my big bro?"

Kai lightly smacked Chloe’s head, "What kind of stupid question is that." He said to stop his silly sister’s behavior. "They’re just friends."

"EEE... I don’t believe it! I am always have impression that My big bro never has friends, because he never talks to anyone except me." Chloe rubbed the spot on her head that her brother just smacked.

"Hahaha~" Chloe laughed at the behavior of these two siblings. "You two really are siblings~ I’m jealous because I’m an only child."

"Hmm... I have younger twin siblings, a girl and a boy." Added Daisy, not wanting to be left out of the conversation.

"So how did you two... meet my big bro here."

"Hmm... if you ask how..."

Chloe put her finger on her cheek, confused where to start when she met Kai. Meanwhile, Kai kicked Chloe’s leg lightly from under the table, Kai really hoped Chloe’s loose lips wouldn’t overshare too much.

"Oh, I met your big bro when he... hehe..." Chloe giggled while looking at Kai. "He was really cool back then~"

"Ehh when was that?" Risa asked curiously.

Seeing that, something in Chloe wanted to tease Kai’s little sister. "When was it... hmm... maybe when he and I went alone to the karaoke~"

Risa and Daisy blushed hearing Chloe’s words, Kai looked at these two girls who were definitely imagining things. But, thinking back, it was a little nostalgic going to karaoke with Chloe.

"Umm... for me, I just met Kai when I was with Chloe. They invited me to a cafe..." Daisy said with her face still flushed.

Risa, hearing all of that, then reached out her hand to grab Kai’s shirt collar and pulled her brother down to bend over.

Kai swallowed his spit, looking at his sister’s face which was actually a little scary, honestly this was the first time seeing Risa make such an angry expression.

So this is what jealousy feels like.

But, weren’t they already reconciled as brother and sister? No way Kai was about to open a ’red flag’ route for his sister.

"You... you..." Risa gritted her teeth before her cheeks puffed up like a pufferfish. "I... didn’t expect you to change... so fast. Huff"

"Want... to go out together next week. Just the two of us." Kai said to shift the conversation topic to sated his cute little siter.

"Okay, let’s have another date on the weekend~" Risa said with a pout before releasing her grip on Kai’s collar, and grabbing Kai’s hand to place it on top of her head.

So easy. Mood swings like that are something I really need to avoid in the future.

Stroking Risa’s head, Kai caught a grinning smile from Chloe and a shy look from Daisy.

"Hehehe, being all lovey-dovey in public... I’m getting jealous~"

"This is normal physical affection..." Kai replied as he kept stroking his sister’s head, who moved even closer and snuggled into his chest.

"Yeah yeah... I don’t believe that. Right, Daisy?" 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

"Umm... I think that’s normal... I like stroking my little siblings’ heads too."

"Yeah but you’re a girl so it’s fine, but he’s a guy~"

Kai didn’t respond, but he thought about how gender really does affect how people see things.

But again, that really wasn’t important.

"Hmm? Kai..."

A different girl’s voice was heard that made his hair stand on end. No way, he thought. But seeing those three girls also turn toward the source of the voice, Kai could see their surprised faces.

He steeled himself to turn around, and his eyes widened in surprise to find one girl and one young woman, one looking shocked and the other is smiling and also waving her hand.

Oi... oi... no freaking way, how could everyone be here in same place.
