The void outside the Ebon Citadel was a canvas of pure unadulterated slaughter.
Through the panoramic viewport, Arthur Sterling sat comfortably on his dark iron throne. He watched his investments pay off in spectacular fashion.
The five Queens were empowered by his million-fold multiplier and they were tearing through the Architects of the End with a breathtaking terrifying efficiency.
Sylvia Thorne floated high above the Ark with her silver hair whipping in the cosmic winds. She wasn’t just casting spells. She was dictating thermal laws.
With a casual wave of her hand, she completely froze a hyper-sphere the size of a moon. She turned the celestial dreadnought into a brittle ice cube before Morwenna smashed through it like a dark-matter cannonball.
Aurelia’s Dark Radiance spear pierced perfectly through the shifting tesseracts and ignored their complex geometries entirely.
Lyra danced through the shadows of the massive constructs. Her daggers severed the conceptual tethers that kept the Outer Gods anchored to reality.
And Kaelith stood on the bow of the ship. Her six limbs wove a flawless impenetrable net of starlight that deflected every barrage of erasure the enemy fleet fired.
It was a beautiful and perfectly oiled corporate machine.
"They are doing good," Arthur murmured as he took a sip of his celestial whiskey.
But the universe rarely allowed for easy victories.
[CRITICAL WARNING!]
↳Foreign Entity has bypassed the localized Reality Barrier.
↳Anomaly detected on the primary command deck.
Arthur didn’t flinch. He didn’t even put his glass down. He just let out a slow annoyed sigh. "Security is getting sloppy."
The air ten feet in front of his throne violently folded inward. It didn’t tear like a portal. It geometrically collapsed and formed a perfectly symmetrical glowing white doorway. Stepping out of the doorway was a being that defied organic description.
It was the Lead Architect. It possessed no face, no flesh, and no discernible anatomy.
It was a towering twelve-foot-tall construct made entirely of interlocking shifting rings of pure blinding white light.
It floated inches above the polished floor and its very presence caused the surrounding metal of the bridge to hum with painful high-frequency vibrations.
"Anomaly," the Lead Architect spoke.
Its voice wasn’t a sound. It was a mathematical equation forcefully injected into Arthur’s brain that translated into sterile emotionless English. "You have corrupted the baseline code of this sector. You operate outside the established parameters of the Prime Creator."
"Ohh another bastard," Arthur said in his mind.
"I’m an independent contractor," Arthur replied smoothly as he leaned back in his throne.
The interlocking rings of the Architect spun faster to analyze him. "Your biological vessel is irrelevant. You possess the System. The formatting tool crafted by the Prime Creator to find a suitable successor.
You have misused the Tool to hoard capital rather than ascend. Return the Tool, anomaly. And we will grant you a merciful erasure."
Arthur stared at the floating geometry. He slowly set his whiskey glass on the armrest of his throne.
Authur not understanding what he was saying, but knew he meant violence.
He stood up and rolled his broad shoulders. The pitch-black Ebonheart Sword snapped into his right hand and immediately ignited with the multi-colored fury of the Primordial Flame.
"You want my software?" Arthur smirked. His dark eyes were entirely devoid of fear.
"Logic dictates your immediate deletion," the Architect stated.
"SHAAAAANK!"
The Architect didn’t move. It simply projected a perfectly straight two-dimensional line of pure conceptual erasure directly at Arthur’s chest.
It was an attack devoid of malice or anger. It was just a mathematical certainty. If the line touched him, his physical volume would be reduced to zero.
Arthur didn’t dodge. He swung the Ebonheart Sword in a brutal upward arc. He channeled his Absolute Order and forced his own conceptual law to clash with the Architect’s logic.
"CRACK!"
The two concepts collided. The sheer kinetic backlash shattered the reinforced glass of the viewport. The shockwave tore through the command bridge and ripped the heavy mahogany tables from their bolts.
Arthur’s boots skidded backward a few inches and left deep grooves in the starlight metal floor.
The erasure line shattered into harmless sparks of light.
"Error," the Architect buzzed as its rings shifted erratically. "Conceptual density of the anomaly exceeds predictive models.
Recalculating."
"Don’t bother," Arthur snarled.
He blurred forward utilizing his Transcendent Spatial Velocity. He didn’t try to out-math the entity. He resorted to pure unadulterated street violence.
Arthur drove his heavy fist directly into the center of the spinning rings.
"BOOM!"
The impact sounded like a collapsing star.
Arthur’s Dimensional Breaker Physique backed by the million-fold multiplier slammed into the pristine geometry.
But the Architect didn’t shatter. The rings simply separated and allowed Arthur’s fist to pass harmlessly through empty space before violently snapping back together entirely around his arm.
"Physical trauma is illogical against a non-physical entity," the Architect droned.
"Initiating localized amputation."
The rings constricted and attempted to exert infinite pressure to cleanly sever Arthur’s arm from his shoulder.
Arthur gritted his teeth as the bones in his arm groaned under the absurd weight. He couldn’t punch it. He couldn’t cut it.
The entity operated on perfect infallible logic. It simply reacted to every action with the exact mathematically perfect counter-reaction.
But Arthur was a corporate liquidator. He knew that any system built on perfect logic had one fatal weakness. It couldn’t handle chaos. It couldn’t handle deliberate intentional stupidity.
’System! Analyze its defensive formulas!’ Arthur roared in his mind. ’Give me counter-equations’
[Ding!]
[1,000,000x Multiplier applied to computational analysis.]
[Target relies on predictive trajectory to shift its mass. To strike the core, Host must execute a mechanically flawed attack.]
Arthur’s predatory smile returned. He didn’t try to pull his trapped arm free. He completely relaxed his muscles. He dropped his perfectly trained martial stance.
He let his posture slump and intentionally threw his own center of gravity completely off balance.
"You think you’re smart because you know math?" Arthur laughed as blood dripped from his lip. "Let me show you how we fight in the slums."
Arthur swung his free hand holding the Ebonheart Sword. But he didn’t aim at the Architect.
He intentionally swung the blade wide and aimed entirely at empty space three feet to the left of the entity. It was a sloppy and completely illogical strike.
The Architect’s predictive algorithms instantly analyzed the swing. "Trajectory poses zero threat. Ignoring."
The entity didn’t shift its rings. It didn’t brace for impact. It stayed perfectly still and was entirely focused on crushing Arthur’s trapped arm.
Which was exactly what Arthur wanted.
Mid-swing, Arthur violently twisted his wrist and forced the blade to abruptly stop. He didn’t use magic to redirect it. He just used brute muscle-tearing physical force and shattered his own wrist in the process.
He ricocheted the heavy pommel of the sword off his own armored knee and wildly bounced the weapon back at an angle that defied every known law of kinetic momentum.
It was an attack so deeply flawed and so fundamentally stupid that the Architect’s flawless logic simply didn’t register it as an attack until it was too late.
"CRACK!"
The pommel of the Ebonheart Sword smashed directly into the glowing central nexus floating inside the interlocking rings.
"CRITICAL ERROR!" the Architect screeched.
The sudden impossible impact completely short-circuited its conceptual matrix. The rings violently spasmed and lost their cohesion to release Arthur’s arm.
"You’re fired," Arthur snarled.
He didn’t give the machine time to reboot. He stepped inside the broken rings and gripped the Ebonheart Sword with both hands. He drove the pitch-black blade directly downward into the shattered nexus.
"SQUELCH!"
The geometric horror went entirely rigid. A blinding flash of white light erupted from its core and its infallible logic violently unravelled as Arthur’s Absolute Order overwrote its existence.
The towering construct exploded into a million pieces of harmless floating data that rained down on the ruined bridge like digital snow.
Arthur stood amidst the falling code panting heavily as his shattered wrist rapidly healed. He looked down at the glowing perfectly square core left behind on the floor.
[Ding!]
↳Target Lead Architect eliminated.
↳Item Acquired: Core of Perfect Logic.
Arthur picked up the core and tossed it casually in his hand. He looked out the shattered viewport.
The rest of the Architect fleet was currently retreating. They fled in absolute terror from the five furious Goddesses tearing their armada to shreds.
"Perfect logic," Arthur mocked as he pocketed the core. "Still can’t beat a good old-fashioned sucker punch."
