Chapter 29 - After Chaos
Shi Yang stood there, his chest rising and falling with every heavy breath. He reached out to touch the wound he had sustained during their previous confrontation, a reminder of the raw power unleashed by Siman.
The rubble around him was still releasing smoke, and the air was thick with dust. What was once a thriving city had now turned to ruins. The chaos was so complete it almost felt unreal. The distant flames still burning in some of the buildings cast an eerie glow over the scene. It was a world that had witnessed the destructive dance of two beings who were more like natural forces than ordinary humans. Siman’s power had been devastating, but Shi Yang had barely survived it. Yet here he stood, tall, despite the destruction surrounding him.
He walked toward Siman, who was still standing amid the ruin, a figure who seemed calm in the aftermath of the devastation. The black sickle, his favorite weapon, rested by his side, faintly gleaming in the fading light. There was a serenity to his presence now, no longer the destructive force rushing forward, but someone who had come to accept the end of the battle.
Shi Yang forced a smile, despite the pain coursing through his body from the intense battle. "Yes, we’ll meet again at the world competition," he said in a steady voice, though it carried a hint of fatigue. "You’re a real opponent, man. Thanks for the fight."
His words carried respect beyond mere courtesy. Shi Yang had faced countless opponents in his career, but Siman was something else. He was an unpredictable storm, a terrifying force. And yet, amidst all of it, Shi Yang felt a strange sense of solidarity. A mutual understanding between warriors who had pushed their limits and survived.
Siman’s lips curled into a slight smile as he turned toward Shi Yang. "You’re not bad yourself," he said, his voice laced with amusement. "I’m looking forward to seeing you in the competition. Let’s see if you can keep up with me."
Shi Yang nodded, a smile still playing on his lips as he turned to leave. But before he could take another step...
From the wreckage of the shattered city, a small figure emerged. At first, Shi Yang thought it was a hallucination, a trick of the mind after such a brutal battle. But no, the child was real. His small body was wrapped in a red jacket, his face wearing an expression of sadness, and his large eyes filled with a mix of sorrow and awe.
The child approached slowly, his footsteps barely audible on the ruined ground. And when he spoke, his voice was sharp and quiet, yet it carried an unmistakable weight.
"You’ve destroyed the whole world," he said, as if his words were whispers, as though saying them aloud would make the truth of them unbearable.
Siman turned slowly, his eyes narrowing slightly as he watched the child. For a moment, it seemed as if the usual chaos and excitement that accompanied every movement of his had receded. There was no battle here, no need for power or violence. Just this child, this unexpected interruption in the aftermath of destruction. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"Hello, Safor..." Siman’s voice was calm, as if speaking to an old friend rather than a child. His gaze wandered around the wreckage that had once been a prosperous city, and he allowed himself a moment of genuine surprise. He hadn’t imagined the extent of the destruction. The buildings, the streets, even the air carried the weight of what had happened. The world that had once been alive and thriving was now just a dead, silent shell, quiet and broken.
Safor’s expression now carried something beyond just sorrow. His eyes held a feeling Siman couldn’t quite place something between pity and urgency. "Give me some of your spiritual energy to heal this world. I need it to repair what you’ve destroyed."
Siman looked at the child, his request hanging in the air between them like a heavy weight. His first instinct was to refuse. After all, the destruction had been part of the battle. It was necessary. But there was something in Safor’s eyes that made him pause. Perhaps it was the weight of the child’s words.
Without saying a word, Siman closed his eyes. He felt the energy inside him—the vast spiritual power, nearly limitless, that he had accumulated over the years. It was a well filled through countless battles, born from the essence of destruction itself. And for a moment, he hesitated. How much of this energy could he release? He felt its limits, the fine line between healing the world and exhausting himself completely.
But then, he opened his eyes and made his decision. He sighed slowly, feeling the heavy responsibility on him. With a single movement, he unleashed a massive wave of spiritual energy, a surge that rushed through the air. The energy flowed toward Safor, a golden light shining against the dark sky. The power was enough to heal a small part of the destruction—buildings that had been shattered were partially restored, cracks in the ground were mended, and the fires that had once raged were extinguished.
But even as Siman released his energy into the world, he felt its limits. It wasn’t enough. Not nearly enough.
Safor absorbed the energy, his small body glowing with a faint golden light. And suddenly, just as he had appeared, the child vanished, dissolving into the space, leaving Siman alone once more amidst the ruins.
Siman stood still for a long moment, staring at the place where Safor had been. His heart was heavy, a strange mixture of relief and regret swirling within him. The energy he had given was barely enough to undo some of the damage, but it was a start. The world he had fought in, the world he had torn apart, was still broken. The rubble around him would not heal overnight. There was no easy solution to the destruction he had caused.

Lucas sat on a chair, his back to the fridge, staring at its empty contents. His brow furrowed as he ran his hand over the shelves. "I don’t see it in the fridge!" he muttered to himself, a hint of disappointment in his voice.
"Did you eat the cheese that was in the fridge, Andre?!"
