The room hung heavy with the weight of Arthur’s silent revelation, the silence stretching on for a solid minute.

Then, Jamie broke the silence with a sharp clap of his hands, the sound cutting through the tension like a knife.

His expression softened into a disarming smile, and he leaned back in his chair, effortlessly steering the conversation in a new direction.

"Well, that was quite the revelation, wasn’t it?"

"No shit!"

Evan exclaimed and Jamie laughed aloud before turning to Arthur, calling out to the godslayer whose expression showed he clearly had more to say.

"Arthur, you shouldn’t poke into people’s secrets so much. Not everyone appreciates their stuff being laid bare like that."

Jamie spoke with a tone that was a mix of amusement and mild reprimand, but Arthur only leaned back with a small, unapologetic smirk playing on his lips.

"I couldn’t help it, you know? The whole thing was just begging for a reveal."

"You’re impossible, you know that?"

Evan retorted with a deadpan look and Arthur just laughed, the sound light and unbothered, as if exposing secrets was all in a day’s work for him.

Seeing this, Jamie flicked his finger, sending a bolt of spatial power piercing through Arthur’s multi-layered barrier and hitting him in the forehead.

"OUCH! Dude, that hurt!"

"It was meant to."

Jamie responded to Arthur, before turning to Evan with a softer expression.

"Since we’re on the topic, and Arthur’s already unceremoniously pried open the door, we might as well walk through it."

Evan looked towards Jamie with a mixture of curiosity and caution and despite sensing this, Jamie continued calmly, steering the conversation back on track.

"Let’s talk about that spell, Evan."

Jamie began, leaning forward slightly.

"You see, I’m more interested in the why than the how. Why were they so intent on sending you to the past?

From what Alvey reported, the spell failed because of your allies’ interference. But even if they didn’t, the spell would have still sent you through time.

Given how things played out, it’s worth asking—what were they really trying to achieve by sending you back?"

Jamie let the question hang for a moment, watching Evan’s reaction. This was a mystery that Evan still didn’t have an answer for, and he was genuinely curious about it.

Now, Jamie’s words had pulled him into the intrigue and the man didn’t fail to notice he’d gotten Evan hooked.

"Don’t you wanna find out? If you do, you can start by giving us more details on the spell...details like what the magic circle looked like.

You saw it, right?"

Evan’s eyes flickered with interest but he remained silent. His fingers repeatedly tapped the glass he was holding as he sunk into his thoughts.

’I did see the circle and I remember what it looks like. Even if I cannot replicate it, I can at least use Leviah’s Hologram Skill to create a projection.

Would Jamie be able to understand it, and perhaps...find out where they originally intended to send me? He most likely would given he has an Authority in the law of Space.’

Jamie had skilfully turned the conversation from a tense revelation into an intriguing mystery. The shift in focus was so smooth, so natural, that Evan was drawn in, the initial shock of being outed as an Aidosian fading into the background.

Now, Evan found himself wanting to know more, not just about the spell, but about the forces that had set him on this unexpected path.

With these thoughts, Evan made a decision. He downed the contents of the glass and slammed it down on the table in between them before speaking.

"Alright. Let’s do this."

’No point trying to hide these things since people already know anyway.’

Seeing how Evan was now on board, Jamie’s eye lit up with a dull glow and he leaned forward.

"So, let’s get down all the information we have and try to figure out the motive and reason for you ending up on Aramis."

With a snap of his fingers, a projection of the number ’8’ in a circle appeared and Jamie began.

"We know the Spell’s Tier. We know its Attribute. We also know why it was disrupted.

But we don’t know its name."

Evan nodded after Jamie spoke, snapping his fingers and creating a Hologram on the table. It featured humanoid stick figures, all arranged in different seemingly random positions.

However, after giving it a little bit of thought, Arthur and Jamie had a conjecture.

’He’s recreating the scene of him being sent back in time...’

It was pretty obvious given one of the stick figures had the number ’8’ rotating behind them. Some figures were red, one was blue and some were green.

Pointing at two of the green stick figures, Evan spoke.

"My Companions used the power of a Former Demon King to attack the proxy caster; this caused the disruption and made the spell activate automatically."

After Evan spoke, Arthur tinkered with the Hologram using basic light magic, creating patterns that showed the flow of energies towards the ’8’ behind one of the red figures.

"You said the spell sent you to a point in spacetime based on the energies in the area which it absorbed.

I remember your exact words being: [The last bit of information I got, was that these energies were being used by the spell to send me to the ’Furthest point in Time and Space where they were closest to each other’, but since I was too busy being frozen in spacetime, I don’t know exactly how much energy it absorbed and whose energy it absorbed.]"

Hearing Arthur’s words, Jamie tapped the ’8’ behind the red stick figure and changed it from a number inscribed in a circle to an actual spell circle.

"I think I know the spell that was used.

Those conditions are very specific, so it’s hard to mistake it for another."

Seeing the projection, Evan shook his head as the circle Jamie created did not resemble the one in his memory, the inscriptions were far too different.

Evan snapped his fingers and another hologram was created, revealing the appearance of the eight-ringed magic circle that the person who sent him back in time had used.

"So, this is what you saw, huh? Very well."

Jamie activated his power and the glow in his eyes brightened. Arthur and Evan also cross-checked the two Spell Circles and it didn’t take long for all three of them to begin to see similarities.

Evan had the Language Comprehension skill, and within a minute, he figured out the reason why the inscriptions in the magic circle Jamie had projected were different from the ones in his memories.

They were written in a different language.

Nevertheless, his Language Comprehension skill needed time to process this new language so he couldn’t figure out which one it was.

Arthur, on the other hand, was faster.

"The average Spell Circle is made up of 3 parts. The Rings denoting the Tier and Flow of Energy, the Mark representing the element or attribute, and the Inscriptions within the rings describing the type of spell being invoked."

His hands moved to different points on the Inscription parts and he began speaking.

"I’ve noted similarities in 4 places. Some other ones have my attention but I need a higher Authority in Time to comprehend them."

With those words, both Arthur and Evan turned towards Jamie who grinned and followed up Arthur’s words.

"And I, having said Higher Authority, can confirm that you are right.

Besides, doesn’t this language look familiar to you, Arthur?"

Jamie’s question had Arthur nodding in affirmation and at that point, Evan activated his Mystic Eyes and a golden symbol appeared within them, showing he also knew what language it was.

"Good thing I have Aidosian friends. Thanks to them, I know this shorthand conjuration method. Rilene uses this method in her spell casting because it shortens her cast time.

If used with this spell, it should shorten the cast time enough to make a Spell capable of sending someone over 10,000 years through time activate in a mere minute."

Jamie moved his hands and he broke down the two projections, before piecing them back together and nodding.

"I’ve confirmed it with my Authority. The spell I suggested was being used and the one Evan saw—they’re the same. It’s a spell that can only be used if one has High-Rank Space and Time Authorities.

Spatiotemporal Magic: Eon-Sunder Regressio."

The name of the spell was finally revealed, and after pondering the name, Arthur couldn’t help but think it was well-matched.

Eon was a unit of time, typically representing a billion years. But in this context, it signified the vast expanse of time being manipulated.

Sunder meant to split, divide, or tear apart. In this case, it implied the act of severing or disrupting the fabric of time.

Regressio was derived from the word "regressus", meaning "a stepping back" or "a return". In this context, it implied a movement backwards through time.

Right after Arthur broke down the spell’s name, Jamie turned to Evan and posed another question.

"You were aware of the Spell’s effects. How did you find this out?"

"...An ’Ally’ of mine."

Evan replied as he tapped the heads of one of the green stick figures on the table, one which was positioned adjacent to the red one with the spell circle behind it.

"They informed me of the Spell’s nature and what it did."

"Did they also inform you of what ’Energy Factors’ were absorbed?"

To Arthur’s question, Evan silently nodded in response. Seeing this, Jamie’s eyes narrowed for a split second, but his expression returned to normal faster than Evan could notice.

"This Spell has a maximum number of Energy Factors it can absorb. 8."

"I was informed of just 6. I do not know if there are any others because before ’they’ could finish speaking, the spell began sending me through time."

"You know 6? That’s plenty."

Jamie snapped his fingers and the eight rings of the spell circle hologram split apart and hovered separately. Two of them turned red and were crossed with an ’X’, while the remaining 6 continued glowing blue.

"The effect of the spell: ’Eon-Sunder Regressio’ is indeed to send the target to the furthest point in space and time where all the Energy Factors fed to it are closest to each other.

In the event that it is disrupted, it automatically absorbs the nearest Energy Factors and activates.

Just like your ’Ally’ told you."

Arthur and Evan narrowed their eyes slightly when they heard Jamie’s words. It didn’t feel to them like he was confirming Evan’s words were correct.

It felt more like...

"...you’re insinuating there’s something more."

Jamie’s lips curled up lightly when Evan spoke and that was enough of a confirmation.

"That description of the spell that your ’Ally’ gave you. There’s a clause missing.

Eon-Sunder Regressio’s effect is to send the target to the furthest point in space and time, relative to its caster, where all the Energy Factors fed to it are closest to each other."

Both Arthur and Evan had their eyes widen in shock.

Just by adding four extra words, their understanding of the Spell had changed entirely.

"Alvey’s theory was wrong. The planet didn’t do anything.

Evan ending up on Aramis wasn’t because of the planet’s consciousness—it’s because the caster of the spell was on Aramis!"

It had been established that there were two casters involved in Evan’s forced time travel.

The Fallen Celestial that he was fighting was the proxy caster, and the ’god’ behind them was the real caster. They were the ones with the power and Law Authority required to cast Tier 8 magic.

Jamie placed his hands on his chin and sunk into his thoughts for a few moments before speaking.

"Evan, if, and only if, the guess in my head is correct.

Then the ’unknown god’ who sent you back in time...you’ve already met them."
