Godslayer's Legend

The Third Stage of the Summoning had called forth a godslayer.

Upon hearing Arthur’s voice, the man turned around and saw the boy looking at him with an amused gaze, looking like a kid who had just discovered a new toy.

However, this ’kid’ had a frightening amount of power rolling off him in waves, with more law energies than the transcendents of his world.

And most importantly, there was this strange feeling of ’subservience’ when he saw Arthur.

"Too bad, you’re just a normal breed.

Oh well, finding an Elder Breed in Esna was a stroke of luck."

Arthur spoke to himself while shaking his head, silently using the energy of the law of summoning to buff his summons.

The Legendary Realm Hellhounds faced off against the Sovereign Realm gods, and with Arthur’s buffs, they could stall these Sovereigns long enough for Arthur to get finalize his preparations.

"What’s your name, godslayer?"

The summoned man narrowed his eyes when he heard Arthur call him this, but before he could even ask how Arthur knew his race, he found himself answering the boy’s question.

"Stelan."

"That’s the same name as a Pegasus I know.

Anyway, I’d need you to handle those two Sovereigns while I recover a bit."

Arthur casually ordered him as he popped open a bottle he pulled out of his subspace and downed the contents.

Stelan, on the other hand, was still looking at the boy with narrowed eyes, wondering if Arthur had some sort of compulsion ability.

He was going to fight on Arthur’s behalf, regardless of whether he wanted to or not—that was the condition for his summoning, after all.

But with Arthur’s words, he felt an extra layer of compulsion, as if the boy’s words had the power to control him.

’It’s as if my body isn’t listening to me.’

It certainly wasn’t a good feeling. Sentient beings never liked being deprived of their free will, after all.

But he had to put that matter to the side as the Legendary Realm Hellhounds had been knocked down by the Sovereigns who were now charging towards Arthur with unbridled fury.

What’s more, their stages were higher than his, with both of them being Superior Stages while he was merely an Inferior.

It wasn’t a fight that he could win.

"Summoner, do you have any-."

Arthur’s faux true voice boomed rang out in the ears and heads of all those in Duskhand, both within the inner and outer sectors of the city.

Simultaneously, a silver hue blanketed the entirety of the Inner City, including all the beings currently locked in combat.

Arthur’s summons continued fighting without obstruction, but all the soldiers instinctively felt something was wrong and attempted to protect their bodies with their energies.

However, it was useless. They could not defend against the cosmic energy waves Arthur had sent into their bodies.

This was the reason why Progenitors were Sub-Cosmic existences by default. It was because their Progenitor Authorities primarily ran on Cosmic energy.

The energy that Arthur had imbued with his authority wrapped around the energy cores and divine sparks of all the Aramisians present.

If they possessed Divine Factors, the maximum amount of energy that they could use from their energy cores was reduced forcefully.

Epic Realm existences dropped by 3 realm stages, Legendries dropped by 2 stages, and the Sovereigns present, also dropped by 2.

If they were Divine Humans like the Epics and Legendries, then they would have only dropped by one stage, but they were bonafide gods; the real targets of Arthur’s racial abilities.

As such, his progenitor authority was more effective on them.

The two Sovereign gods were dumbfounded as they lost control of their bodies and crashed towards the ground, the sudden drop in realm stage distracting them enough for Arthur to use Localized Gravitation on them.

’As I thought! This kid is like me! No...he’s even worse!’

Stelan exclaimed internally upon noticing what Arthur had done.

The Cosmic energy didn’t just stop at limiting their divine sparks but remained in their bodies to inflict debuffs that reduced all their stat parameters.

Speed, Strength, Durability, and even their life forces.

As far as Arthur remained within the limit of ambient cosmic energy he could manipulate, then the cosmic energy would remain in their bodies and weaken them.

Now then, one might believe that since Progenitor Authorities worked on cosmic energy, Cosmic Beings could resist their effects.

Unfortunately, things didn’t work out that way. Progenitors were unique existences in the Cosmos, so their authorities naturally didn’t work with conventional laws.

One needed special circumstances to be able to resist their effects, but this wasn’t important now.

What was important, was that Arthur was finally feeling the effects of the energy potions he had downed.

His magic power and his divinity had regenerated sufficiently.

The boy floated up into the air and holding out his hand, willed Lostvayne to come back to him as he spoke.

|¬Rejoice! Soldiers and gods of Duskhand. ¬|

He grabbed the sword and infused the power of Null into it before continuing.

|¬Your deaths would be swift. ¬|

Arthur had zero plans on dragging this fight out. He was operating at more than 100% due to his state of ’Enlightenment’ from gaining a new Pseudo-Authority.

But he knew more than anyone else that this state wasn’t going to last forever. It had a set duration and Arthur intended to finish things within that duration.

’Besides, this is the best time for me to grow stronger.

My energy manipulation is as natural as breathing for me right now, I can use this to refine my techniques even more and increase their efficiency.’

"Alright, Stelan.

Go deal with them, your Progenitor’s blessing Is with you."

Stelan’s body was bathed in a wave of cosmic energy, and unlike the gods who had their strengths reduced, Stelan found his power increasing to that of an Intermediate stage.

This was a small boon that could be granted to progeny fighting ’on behalf’ of their Progenitor.

Although Stelan didn’t know the reason for this sudden buff, he was very grateful for it. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

’It’s not the law of summoning’s buff. Does it have to do with that ’Progenitor’ thing he did earlier?’

This godslayer practised the law of Summoning, but he was not on the ’Summoner’ Path like Arthur, but on the Path of the ’Summoned’.

Not just him, but the Inferior Legendary Hell Hounds also did the same, hence the reason why they were seen as targets for Arthur’s summoning and why the Three Stage Summoning consumed less energy than it would have if it had summoned random monsters.

As for why Stelan did this, it was to put himself in situations where he could get stronger. What’s more, unless he was killed with the power of an Authority, he wasn’t going to face ’True Death’ since his soul was protected by the law of summoning.

Stelan unsheathed his sword and activated his unique skill, with Arthur noticing that the blade of the weapon seemed hollow.

With Stelan’s skill activation, the blood from all the corpses that had spilt onto the ground floated up and flew towards him, entering his sword and filling up the hollow space within the blade.

’Ohh, it makes sense why corpses were accepted as an offering to summon him now.’

Arthur thought to himself as he enveloped Lostvayne with his silver aura, before turning around just in time to block the sudden sword slash that came from behind him.

**CLANGGG!!!!

The collision reverberated with a resonating sound, sending shockwaves rippling through the air, while the force propelled both Arthur and his assailant backwards with explosive power.

The progenitor looked at his assailant with a blank gaze, and then turned to his sides, before shaking his head and speaking.

"Reveal yourselves. It is impossible for gods to hide from my sight."

"...."

Silence lingered briefly until the boy’s head suddenly snapped to the right with his left eye illuminated. Six flaming divine spears materialized inches from his face, and he effortlessly sliced through the temporally suspended projectiles with his sword.

"Since you fools don’t want to come out, I’d force you out."

Arthur held up his left hand and coated it in a mix of spatial and destructive energies. Naturally, there was no way that the god who had just attacked him would let him carry on with what he wanted to do.

"Wait there. I’d kill you along with your friends who like hiding."

Arthur’s left eye glowed and she felt her entire body from her neck downwards stop in time, remaining in that state until Arthur stretched out his hand and threw two consecutive punches to the space beside him.

He sent shockwaves of spatial destruction energy flying, causing the space to crack like glass and force the figures of the other two hidden gods out.

"You should have just come out obediently."

Duskhand was the Aramisians’ factory for fake Divine Humans, so from the get-go, Arthur had been expecting there to even be Transcendents present.

As such, even if he could not sense them, there was no way the boy would have believed that there were just two Sovereigns present.
