Li Yun had no idea what Ming Lingyi intended to do. He pondered for a moment before speaking. "Today’s incident... it wasn’t necessarily orchestrated by someone with real influence in the Xie family..."

Ming Lingyi had finally gotten a chance to see her Little Bun; of course she wanted Li Yan to stay for dinner. As for where Li Yun would go or what he would eat in the meantime—that was entirely outside her realm of consideration.

Li Yun had to double-check that he hadn’t misheard. Ming Lingyi meant to keep Li Yan for dinner, and as for him... he could go get lost.

Li Yun’s face fell. "If he can eat here, why can’t I?"

Ming Lingyi replied, "Xiao Chun and the others all know Huazhao, so it’s perfectly normal for him to eat in the back courtyard. But you’re a grown man. Your presence here is already highly irregular, isn’t it?"
