A year later (299 AC) :
Three Great Slaver cities had fallen under Helios’s banner.
He wished he could say ruling was entertaining but it truly was not, the sudden unity of Slaver’s Bay had caught every other Essosi city. The ones known for their economy being built of slavery.
The names of the cities were changed to something from home that Helios like to recall.
Aastapor had become Athens.
Yunkai had been renamed to Sparta.
Meeren had been renamed to Macedon.
The greek city states of old. Helios had loved the idea, his council which had questioned the origin of the names had only gotten another outlandish tale.
Better still he had given his new kingdom a proper name : ROME.
This was no longer Slaver’s Bay but Roman Bay.
Helios had been sure erase any sign of Slaver’s remaining, removing their identity root and stem.
Although Romans were slavers but they were better and people here did not know that.
The Slaves were quick to accept the propoganda spread by the scholars, many had converted upon laying eyes on Helios.
He enjoyed the attention but he would not deny how uncomfortable it had been to see so many bow.
The freed slaves had completely adopted their new identities.
In a year, the Roman Bay was growing richer than it ever had when it was still Slaver’s Bay.
The Iron Bank was quick to support the venture, the entire republic system had won a great many points with the Braavosi.
Although Helios was the Emperor. The efficient governance had led to an almost independent kingdom. All the decision making power had still rested with the Emperor’s Council.
But without a figure head to rally to, the entire system would be quick to collapse. A little more adjustments had to made to make it truly independent.
Helios had worked on the construction of a senate in Meeren.
The abolishing of slavery and human rights had made him many enemies. Especially the ones who were directly affected by the halting of the slave trade.
Leading to relying on the Iron Bank and Braavos for more support, not as much as Helios had made it out to be.
He wanted the other cities to believe there was still flaw with the Roman Empire.
Braavos too had believed the unstable structure, to them a foolish monarch was simply giving away his powers. They had been eager to help in the endeavor.
Helios had scoured the lands he ruled, If Athens had an iron and emerald mine, the others were better.
Yunkai had a gold mine in the mountains and Meeren had diamond mine along a small batch of gold mine.
Helios had restructured the army to meet the Roman legion system. He now had command over 70,000 soldiers. All trained and ready in a year’s time. With a fleet of 400 ships.
Making him the most powerful ruler militarily in Essos.
Within the next year he expected to have a standing army a 100,000 strong.
Missendei had managed the new spy system efficiently, he had eyes all over the world now.
The news of Westeros was most shocking.
All the seven kingdoms had put resources into the maintaining of the Night’s watch. The most popular rumour was of the dead rising in the crypts of Winterfell.
The Night’s watch service was made mandatory at the request of Eddard Stark.
Any boy who turns sixteen was expected to serve 2 years.
The current Night’s Watch numbers stood at 10,000 strong, more on the way.
The war of the five kings had not broken out at all.
Not long ago a Dothraki hord had attempted to invade Yunkai, led by Khal Drogo himself.
But that was not what intrested Helios. Missendei had informed him that the Dothraki were paid of by the free cities.
Helios had killed 40,000 Dothraki screamers that day, using this as an oppurtunity to take his army for a nice march through the grasslands all the way to Vaes Dothrak.
The Horse god was gone, and the Dothraki too had all been wiped out. All within a month.
That had kept all the Free cities in check, they were terrified.
Helios knew from the sudden surge of the annual tributes he received. All the way from Pentos to Qarth.
The entire Dothraki sea belonged to him now, The vast under-utilized plains were his. Developing them would be a whole another hassle.
But Helios had started with roads, the true Roman way.
The great Solaris roads was currently underway, he had been sure to order trees be planted and inns be build around the roads.
It would take another year to complete. The projects with the cities alone were a pain, draining his treasury. But the gold mines had been a life saver.
He did not want to be indebted to the Iron Bank, not out of fear but out of dignity.
Helios had already ordered that towns start being developed in suitable, empty areas and the ones that had somehow survived the Dothraki be given priority.
Changing the world was easy enough when only you had absolute power.
It would still take about ten years before more cities could rise.
Oberyn had not been idle either, Arianne Martell had arrived from Sunspear, seeking his attention. The Dornish wanted a desperate marriage pact.
Especially after the quick annexation of the Dothraki sea, Helios could not care less. Ignoring the girl entirely.
The Dornish, Arianne specifially as beautifull as she was, was not marriage material.
But Helios would not deny the Dornish a reward for the help.
He had instead arranged a marriage pact between Quentyn Martell and Alys Hightower.
Doran’s consent did not matter. One does not object a god. And Oberyn knew that well.
The Hightower girls were absurdly naive when Helios had first interacted with them. But now, eighteen months later. They carried themselves up like proper Queens.
They were both only fifteen but Helios had grown attached to them like they were his own. The girls were his heirs in all but name.
Should a god of this world successfully kill him, they would continue to carry the flames.

Pentosh :
Illyrio Mopatis had felt all his plans slipping away from his fingers.
Varys had let him know that the Seven kingdoms were repairing themselves, steadily and they were united.
Varys had also abandoned his Targeryan restoration plan. Leaving Illyrio to question why he had bothered to keep the annoying fool of a beggar with him, let alone treat him as a prince.
His buisness to had felt being in serious loss after the arrival of a new party in Essos.
One that had taken the world by storm, held the entirety of Essos in a chokehold.
Within less than two years, the entire Slaver’s Bay and the Dothraki sea had belonged to one man.
Illyrio knew nothing about him except he was a man playing god.
Preaching about a new faith, White light as he called it.
Making himself appear to be God of the Sun of all things. He had laughed when he heard that. Openly.
But the Dothraki hord led by Khal Drogo, funded by him and many other merchants had invaded Yunkai to destroy the man.
But the Dothraki as a whole had been wiped out, all in a moon’s time.
It was impossible, the Dothraki sea was large and the hords were scattered everywhere.
Then he had heard rumours about this "God-Emperor" flying and shooting fire out of his eyes.
This should have been absurd, but it was not. Not with waht he had been hearing from the west. Perhaps there was truth to it yet.
He had wished to marry Danaerys to the horse lord but there was a much bigger fish in the sea now.
And he was unmarried as the words said. And Danaerys was the most beautifull girl any man could lay his eyes on.
Fit for a God-King.
