After warming up for about half an hour in the hills, Fang Can headed for home.
Along the way, he did a quick calculation of the physical abilities he had just displayed.
His strength was about 1.5 tons, and his top speed was 18 m/s.
He could accelerate from a standstill to his limit and run 100 meters in under seven seconds.
His body was also structured to maintain excellent flexibility while being tougher than solid wood.
Furthermore, under direct sunlight, he could sustain combat at full power for at least three hours.
All these indicators proved that he had reached a terrifyingly inhuman level.
In an ancient, pre-cataclysm civilization devoid of miracles, an army would have to rely on human-wave tactics to wear down someone with his strength and speed. Before they could kill him, he would have taken tens of thousands of lives.
Of course, that was assuming he had ample sunlight.
On a moonless, overcast night, if he fought to the death without retreating, he could probably only kill two or three thousand people before being overwhelmed.
’Unfortunately, this level of power is nowhere near enough to contend with those who have superpowers. I’m still not strong enough,’ Fang Can thought, shaking his head inwardly.
The abilities of every person with superpowers were bizarre and unpredictable. Even the most powerful individual couldn’t be confident in their ability to take on the whole world alone.
Because no one ever knew if there was a superpower out there that could perfectly counter their own.
Watching the bright, clear moon rise into the sky after the sun had set, a thought occurred to Fang Can. ’Moonlight... is just reflected sunlight, isn’t it?’
The moment he had that thought, Fang Can felt the conversion efficiency within his body increase ever so slightly.
However, because most of the light was scattered and refracted, the rate of absorption was far slower than with direct sunlight.
Feeling the change in his body, Fang Can chuckled. "Heh, all in the mind, I guess."
The rest of the walk was uneventful. After a few kilometers, Fang Can pushed open his door and saw a fairy-like figure sitting cross-legged on the cold tile floor, cultivating under the shimmering moonlight that streamed through the window.
As he closed the door, he took a moment to study her face in the moonlight. She was breathtakingly beautiful.
To be honest, when Fang Can first met the girl, he seriously suspected that fate had brought them together with ill intentions.
He had almost thought she was there to offer herself up to him on a silver platter.
This realization even made Fang Can start to doubt himself.
’Was I so desperate that even fate couldn’t bear to watch anymore and decided to play matchmaker for me?’
’My life isn’t about to turn into some kind of harem anime or a "My Girlfriend Came from Another World" dating sim, is it?’
Shaking his head lightly to clear his thoughts, Fang Can prepared to ignore the girl and continue tempering his body inside.
But as if sensing his return, Jiang Ning’an ceased her cultivation and slowly opened her eyes. "You’re back."
Although her expression was calm, Jiang Ning’an was inwardly relieved to see that Fang Can hadn’t reported her.
After all, even though she had chosen to trust him, she couldn’t help but feel a subconscious doubt bubble up from time to time about this person she had only known for a single night.
Fang Can’s actions now proved she hadn’t made the wrong bet, and the tense atmosphere between them couldn’t help but soften.
"Mm, looks like you didn’t go out today," Fang Can said with a nod of approval. "Come with me. I’m going to teach you some basic things about this world."
Jiang Ning’an nodded obediently and followed Fang Can into the bedroom.
But as she got closer to him, her slender brows furrowed. She felt a faint, almost imperceptible sense of dissonance, as if Fang Can’s martial arts Realm had undergone a qualitative leap in just one night.
’How is that possible? It must be an illusion,’ Jiang Ning’an denied in her heart.
Tempering the physical body required slow, grinding effort. Even someone as exceptionally talented as her had to train bitterly for a whole year just to achieve a flawless physique. Getting stronger overnight was simply impossible.
’He couldn’t possibly have reached this state in just seven days, could he? No, that’s impossible, right?’ Jiang Ning’an thought, the idea seeming absurd.
In both theory and practice, such a thing was absolutely impossible! Utterly impossible!
Suppressing the mistaken impression from her mind, the girl followed Fang Can into the bedroom. She watched as he lightly pressed a button on a metal box, and in the next instant, a light flared to life.
"What is that?" the girl asked, staring intently at the computer case. She had long wanted to understand the marvelous contraptions of this world.
"Don’t be so anxious. You’ll find out soon enough," Fang Can said dismissively as he turned on the computer. He went to a video site and selected a video titled, "How Transmigrators Can Blend In With Modern Humans."
It had to be said, humanity had truly taken absurdity to its limits. There was a creation for everything.
But right now, Fang Can needed a way to help a native of another world assimilate into modern society, and this video was a huge help.
Under Jiang Ning’an’s dazed gaze, Fang Can pushed her down into the gaming chair. "Watch this entire video for the next hour. After you’re done, you should have a basic understanding of this country."
Jiang Ning’an nodded, still bewildered. She began to study earnestly, watching the video on the screen, where a content creator, with a completely serious expression, was teaching what was essentially an elaborate joke.
Fang Can watched Jiang Ning’an as she diligently studied modern knowledge, her expressions shifting from "Oh, I see," to "Wow," to "That’s incredible..."
’I have to say, even though the whole ’our two worlds share the same language’ setup is ridiculous, it really is convenient at times like this, isn’t it? We don’t have to waste time on even the most basic communication.’
Fang Can shook his head with a smile, planning to use more videos to teach her how to use various modern appliances after she finished this one.
’But... I probably don’t need to teach her how to use a toilet, right?’ Fang Can wondered.
After all, achieving a Transcendent Body was a process of deification. A Martial Artist who had completely shed their mortal shell was returning to an Innate state. Aside from a few special systems, most could abstain from worldly food entirely.
It might be a great disappointment to certain corners of the internet, but in theory, a beautiful girl with a Transcendent Body really doesn’t poop, right?
All sorts of thoughts swirled in Fang Can’s mind. Realizing he’d been overthinking things lately, he stepped out of the room and began to slowly practice the sixty-six forms of the Tiger’s Hunger Fist Skill.
Although the Tiger Evil Sect’s Skill on his panel had been modified, the Tiger Slayer Fist was still commendable for its ability to temper the body, so Fang Can began practicing its forms.
And while Fang Can was practicing, all across Z City, every person with superpowers received an order from their superiors in the Dragon Group: evacuate Z City within one night.
Although it was unclear what their superiors were planning, these "masters of men" began an orderly evacuation, taking their entire extended households and harems with them.
In just a single night, although Z City appeared unchanged on the surface, it had in reality become a city devoid of anyone with superpowers.
