Seeing her mother’s surprise, Yiyi shook her head and sighed, "Yes, everything was fine yesterday, but today it’s gone."

But before Yiyi could approach the river, she heard laughter and faint voices coming from nearby.

"Mo Kailuo, why are you still swimming here? Didn’t they say your god-grandfather passed away? Aren’t you supposed to visit the Lu Family?"

A rather arrogant voice followed.

"My dad and the others are there, so I don’t need to go. Moreover, my dad never acknowledged Mr. Lu as a godfather; how could he be my god-grandfather? I have my own grandfather."

"Mo Kailuo, there’s something wrong here. The Lu Family has been so good to your family; calling him grandfather would be appropriate."

"Hmph, how have they been good to us? If it weren’t for my dad being the village chief, they would have ignored us long ago."

Hearing these words, Yiyi realized that one of the boys was probably Mo Kailuo, Mo Yougen’s son. She had seen him a few times before — a spoiled child. Hearing his words now, Yiyi knew this person’s views were skewed.

From what she understood, the Lu Family had helped Mo Yougen’s family greatly, yet in his mouth, it was twisted into the Lu Family flattering the powerful.

Yiyi initially planned to leave since with so many kids around, finding any traces would likely be impossible.

Mo Bajin lay weakly in bed, flipping aimlessly, until he suddenly saw Mo Yiyi standing beside the bed, startling him into a shiver. Then he shriekingly asked, "Mo Yiyi, how are you here?"

Seeing Mo Bajin’s pale and gaunt face, Yiyi couldn’t help but smile.

"Of course, I came to see you."

"Hmph... A wolf with malicious intent visits a chicken for New Year, what ill intentions you bear coming to see me suddenly, what do you want?"

Seeing Mo Yiyi again made Mo Bajin’s heart fill with unease; this girl was cunning, ruthless, and had those terrifying poisons, leaving him thoroughly afraid of her.

Yiyi, hearing this, laughed and said, "I did nothing; don’t falsely accuse me. I just saw your recent poor health, reminded myself that I can cure your weakness, what do you think? Help me with one thing, and I’ll have you energized by tomorrow."

Mo Bajin was doubtful of Yiyi’s words.

"Your words are untrustworthy, don’t expect me to help you."

"Then keep lying in bed."
