Eventually, exhaustion began catching up to him.

Breathing heavily, Ling Han staggered outside into the backyard before lighting a cigarette with trembling hands.

The orange glow illuminated his twisted expression beneath the moonlight.

"Ye Chen is pathetic... Shen Tian is a homewrecker... I can’t rely on anybody..."

He took a deep drag before violently stomping the cigarette into the ground.

"How the hell am I supposed to fight the Shen Family!? Damn it!"

Suddenly, police sirens echoed in the distance.

Ling Han froze.

"...What?"

As he walked toward the front yard, several police vehicles suddenly came speeding through the gates before stopping directly outside the mansion.

Doors slammed open.

Armed officers quickly surrounded the area.

"GET ON THE GROUND!"

"Hands where we can see them!"

Police immediately raised their weapons toward him.

Ling Han’s eyes widened in disbelief.

"Do you know who I am?!" he roared while pointing at them furiously. "I’ll have every single one of you fired!"

But not a single officer moved.

Then a beautiful woman stepped out from one of the vehicles.

Ruan Yizhen.

"Lower your weapons," she ordered calmly. "I’ll handle this."

The officers immediately obeyed.

Seeing her, Ling Han finally relaxed slightly.

"Hah... good. At least someone here has common sense," he sneered. "I don’t want to sue your entire department."

Then suddenly...

BZTTT!!

A taser slammed directly into his body.

"AAAAAGH!"

Ling Han convulsed violently before collapsing face first onto the ground.

Ruan Yizhen calmly walked over and pinned his arms behind his back while cuffing him.

"Mr. Han," she said coldly, "you are being detained on suspicion of aggravated assault and domestic abuse."

At the same time, first responders rushed into the mansion.

A few moments later, paramedics emerged carrying the battered maid on a stretcher.

Even the experienced officers looked disgusted after seeing her condition.

Ling Han had completely lost all dignity.

His pants were soaked.

Ruan Yizhen looked down at him with visible contempt before signaling her officers.
