Rover nodded and aimed the gourd at the stone pedestal.
This time, there were no surprises the Reverberation was successfully absorbed.
"As a Resonator, after absorbing a Reverberation with the Pangu Terminal, you can manifest it as an Echo for combat," Baizhi reminded her.
Rover nodded in understanding, then turned her gaze to Lucian.
The others also shifted their attention to Lucian.
Chixia, curious, asked, "Lucian, you’re not a Resonator. Even if you absorb a Reverberation, you shouldn’t be able to manifest it, right?"
Lucian responded with an enigmatic smile.
He then mimicked the motion, raising his gourd toward the Reverberation.
"Go! Pangu Terminal!"
A second later, the Reverberation dissolved into particles and was absorbed into his Pangu Terminal.
The information of the absorbed Reverberation flooded his mind.
So, this Echo was called the Stonewall Bracer.
The group watched him curiously, waiting for his next move.
After all, only Resonators could manifest Echos.
Ordinary people without resonance abilities couldn’t do it.
Lucian smirked. The first step to becoming a Pokémon Master began here!
"Come forth! Stonewall Bracer!"
With a swing of his gourd, the once-dispersed Reverberation had now been purified by his Pangu Terminal and materialized as an Echo.
"Wait... is this the Pangu Terminal’s ’Projection’ function?" Chixia scratched her head in confusion.
The Pangu Terminal was a miraculous device, equipped with numerous built-in tools like ’Grapple’ and Levitator.’
’Projection’ was one of its many functions.
Baizhi frowned. "No... that’s not it."
The Stonewall Bracer Lucian summoned wasn’t motionless like a projection it was lively and active.
Chixia gasped. "Th-this... the Stonewall Bracer is alive again!"
"Indeed." Lucian nodded in satisfaction.
He signaled the Stonewall Bracer to raise an arm, then effortlessly climbed onto it and took a seat.
"Stonewall Bracer, let’s go!"
"GRRAAHH!" The Stonewall Bracer roared excitedly, each step causing the ground to tremble.
Chixia: "Uh... Lucian, did you absorb the Stonewall Bracer just to use it as a mount?"
"Of course not." Baizhi’s eyes gleamed. "It seems there are still many secrets about him..."
She had never heard of an ordinary human being able to control an Echo and command it.
Resonators only temporarily transformed into Echos using their resonance abilities to fight.
At the very least, Baizhi had never encountered anyone human or Resonator who could release an Echo to act alongside them.
Was this a function of his Pangu Terminal, or was it Lucian’s own ability?
If the people of Jinzhou could harness this power...
In any case, Baizhi’s desire to study Lucian grew stronger by the minute.
Lucian patted the spot next to him and glanced at Rover.
Rover smirked, grabbed the Stonewall Bracer’s arm, and effortlessly pulled herself up.
"Great view," she remarked.
Chixia and the other two watched with slight envy.
"Ah!"
As the group continued toward Jinzhou, Chixia suddenly exclaimed.
"The beacon’s just ahead!"
Following her pointing finger, Lucian spotted a glowing red beacon by the roadside.
"Remember to register and activate any beacons you see. They provide a protective effect within a five-meter radius, it’s relatively safe," Yangyang added.
"Plus, beacons allow teleportation between each other, making things much easier for Resonators."
"Rover, Lucian, can you hand me your Pangu Terminals for a moment?"
After receiving their gourds, Yangyang performed data transfer and registration.
The beacon’s glow then shifted from red to blue.
"That’s it?" Lucian asked curiously.
"Yep."
Lucian experimentally activated the teleport function.
In a flash, he vanished from the Stonewall Bracer’s arm and reappeared beside the beacon.
"Whoa! Fun! Love it!"
Baizhi: "..."
Yangyang turned to Rover. "With a Tacet Mark on your hand and a Pangu Terminal on you even if the design differs these two things are the hallmarks of a Resonator."
Lucian raised a brow. "Then what am I?"
Rover, who had now climbed down from the Stonewall Bracer, answered, "You’re my friend."
Lucian looked at her, touched.
Chixia: "You don’t have the traits of a Tacet Mark, but you carry a Pangu Terminal. So you must be..."
"I am...?"
"I got it! You’re a Threnodian!"
"?" Lucian gave her a deadpan stare.
"First of all I don’t know what that means? And second by that logic, I should be a Legendary Person!"
"Uh..." Chixia tapped her head. "I guess that makes sense..."
Baizhi sighed. These two are such clowns...
Chixia continued, "Some Resonators, like Yangyang, can sense external information through wind resonance, which is how she detected the forming Tacet Field earlier."
"As for me? I can’t sense anything, heh." She scratched her head sheepishly.
But as a Fusion Resonator, it was natural she lacked such perception.
Resonators were divided into six attributes:
Fusion (Fire), Glacio (Ice), Aero (Wind), Electro (Lightning), Spectro (Light), and Havoc (Dark)
Different Resonators also possessed varying combat abilities, though this depended on individual factors.
For example, Chixia’s resonance ability was Blazing Flames, and she had six years of resonance history. Rumor had it she first resonated in an environment of extreme heat.
Now, as a Patroller of Jinzhou, her passion burned like an inextinguishable flame, forever lively as she dashed through the city’s streets.
She could channel this passion into endless bullets, firing them from her fingertips.
Chixia added, "Besides, hardly anyone wanders around the wilderness these days."
Due to the Waveworn Phenomenon, apart from the Midnight Rangers and Resonators, almost no one roamed outside. After all, the wilds were now infested with wandering Tacet Discords.
If they encountered less aggressive ones, fine. But if it was a large-scale Tacet Discord? Run.
Just then, Lucian’s mind buzzed with the system’s voice again.
[Long-Term Mission 1: Increase affinity with Resonators.]
[Time Limit: None]
[Reward: Gain a portion of the abilities of any Resonator whose affinity reaches 80.]
[Ding! Affinity levels can be checked at any time!]
Lucian raised a brow. So besides fighting with Echos, I can also enhance my own abilities?
Did this mean he could potentially possess all six resonance attributes?
And it was through affinity, no less...
A mischievous grin spread across his face. "Heh heh heh..."
He checked the current affinity levels:
[Rover: 60]
[Chixia: 60]
[Yangyang: 50]
[Baizhi: 50]
