At Nanshan Villa, Shen Fei had rapidly created countless Fire Tornadoes and Water Tornadoes, the speed of their creation dictated by the Attack Speed of his Fire, Wind, and Rain Towers. He remotely controlled the maelstrom, sending it to sweep through every area occupied by the Skeleton Monsters.

However, just as the tornadoes moved to the edge of Qing City Airport and were about to touch the origin point of the Undead Calamity, they suddenly stopped.

They couldn’t advance any further. Currently, the Defense Towers were still bare, and his only Attribute Enhancement Tower could only increase their range tenfold. Annoyingly enough, this enhanced range stopped right at the edge of Qing City Airport. Shen Fei had originally planned to direct the countless tornadoes straight to the Undead Calamity’s spawn point and let them swirl there indefinitely. He never expected them to only reach the doorstep, unable to enter. Although the Water Tornadoes were full of water, soaking everything, and the Fire Tornadoes had cleared away all surrounding obstacles, they were at the door and just couldn’t get in. No matter how he tried, he just couldn’t get them to go inside.

Sensing the first of his created tornadoes beginning to dissipate, an idea sparked in Shen Fei’s mind. It was time for a change of plans.

His Defense Towers could currently reach 50km, entirely because their range had been enhanced. This range enhancement, however, had a limited duration. Once the enhancement ended, his tornadoes would be forced to retreat to a mere 5km range. That, of course, was unacceptable. Although he could conjure the tornadoes indefinitely without any cost, he couldn’t stand guard here 24/7. The problem had to be solved in a way that didn’t require constant effort.

Watching the time tick away, Shen Fei’s thoughts churned. Soon, he summoned a new Defense Tower from his inherited collection—a tower with exceptionally powerful single-target attacks, devastating against stationary targets: the Star-Slaying Tower! After summoning the futuristic-looking tower, Shen Fei immediately adjusted its range to 50km. Then, he aimed it at the center of Qing City Airport and fired.

A horde like this has to have a source.

He had already tested his Wind, Fire, and Rain Towers wantonly, without holding back in the slightest. Unwilling to waste any more time, Shen Fei activated the Star-Slaying Tower to unleash its Star-Slaying Strike.

And then, he discovered that no more Skeleton Monsters were appearing. His Star-Slaying Tower had worked! Although the range limit prevented him from controlling the Detection Tower to see what the airport looked like after being annihilated, seeing that no more monsters were spawning from there told him all he needed to know. The fledgling Monster Nest had been wiped out by a single shot.

"Not bad!"

From its appearance to its end just now, the Undead Calamity had lasted less than an hour. Shen Fei didn’t know what this event’s swift conclusion meant to other people, but for him, it was an excellent testing opportunity. The Undead Calamity had finally given him a chance to unleash the attacks of four of his Defense Towers at full power, and he was very satisfied with the results.

Looking at the single remaining use on the enhancement tower, Shen Fei let out a soft sigh. Because of the use limit, he couldn’t boost the range of all his Defense Towers beyond 50km to test them all. He had only managed to test the abilities of four of them. Now that the Undead Calamity was cleared, he still had one last chance to boost a tower’s range.

Shen Fei was completely unfazed by the Undead Calamity he had just so easily cleared.

This is nothing! The game abilities have only been inherited for two days; the truly powerful monsters haven’t even appeared yet. The Undead Calamity was strong, yes, but the one that just erupted was nothing more than a drizzle. People are only panicking because humanity has inherited so few abilities so far. Once they’ve seen more, a minor event like this won’t cause much of a stir. A truly powerful Undead Calamity is one that moves like an organized army, led by an Invincible boss, advancing by land, sea, and air, turning the very earth into a frozen, cataclysmic domain!

Pulling his attention back, Shen Fei was about to check the online discussions about the Qing City monster tide when something suddenly made him freeze. He saw the contents of a trending post and realized things weren’t over yet.

In northern Qing City, on the ring-road expressway’s front line of defense, the world-illuminating pillar of light vanished. All the tornadoes disappeared as well. Before them, dozens of square kilometers of land had been scoured clean by the tornadoes, which had scraped the land down by two meters. In its place was a massive, brown crater, over a hundred square kilometers in area and as deep as a swimming pool.
