Morning light cut through the gaps in the tent, reflecting streaks across his sweat-filled back.

A soft rustle came from the large pile of furs in the corner of the room. Kane paused mid-push-up and looked over his shoulder.

The loud crack echoed through the trees, demanding immediate attention.

The warriors stopped talking and gathered around the square, waiting for his orders.
