The sound of footsteps on the giant staircase ceased. Kyrian and the sect leader Feng Yuan had finally reached the top of the staircase.

Kyrian still felt the weight of what had happened in the pavilion. His body was slightly tired, his Qi completely depleted. Despite this, his mind remained clear.

Behind the main mountain, the scenery revealed itself differently from anything he had seen until then.

There were no grand, imposing structures or gigantic halls. What stood in the place where they stopped were just seven wide courtyards.

Simple, yet surrounded by immense ancient trees and stones that seemed to radiate a natural presence. The wind here felt fresher, and the Qi, the energy of the world, seemed to flow more densely in this place.

Feng Yuan stopped and pointed with his hand.

"This is where the central disciples live."

"Each courtyard belongs to one of them."

Kyrian observed silently.

The leader then continued.

"The fourth from the left is vacant. As my direct disciple, your position is different from that of just a central disciple. You are above them. But for now, you will stay here."

Kyrian diverted his gaze to the last courtyard, slightly set apart from the others.

"This will be yours."

He then approached Kyrian. In his hand, a black robe suddenly appeared. It was simple but elegant.

The sect emblem was embroidered on the chest and shoulders, swords in the shape of leaves. The fabric was light yet extremely durable.

"This is your new robe. You will wear black, just like me, it is the mark of a direct disciple of the sect."

"Wear it."

Kyrian took the robe and examined it for a few moments. The feeling of finally being part of a sect was strange. The clothing was not just a garment but a symbol that others would recognize and respect.

Feng Yuan then took out two books from his spatial ring and handed them to Kyrian as well.

One was thick and heavy, with a title indicating it was about the history of the Greenblade Sword Sect. The other was thinner. It detailed the rules of the sect and its geography, explaining where and how each pavilion of the sect operated.

"Read carefully. Each pavilion contains rules and access instructions. Even as a direct disciple, try not to break the rules too much." Feng Yuan concluded.

Kyrian received the books and bowed his head slightly in acknowledgment.

"Understood."

The leader nodded and then turned around.

"Rest for today. Tomorrow we begin."

Kyrian then entered his new courtyard. The place was clean, with a simple hall, some inner rooms, and a small training area in the back. It wasn’t extremely luxurious, but it was extremely suitable.

He laid the robe on the table and placed the books beside it. He took a deep breath.

"This is just the beginning. But everything went well..."

"Ah... the first-place prize for the test will probably go to someone else."

"..."

"I guess there’s nothing to be done. It’s not good to be too greedy." Kyrian sighed.

In the great hall of the sect, four elders waited without hurry. The space was vast, green columns held the ceiling, along with green torch flames on the walls that illuminated the area.

The walls displayed ancient paintings of swords.

When Feng Yuan entered the hall, the elders slightly rose.

"We see the leader." They all greeted at the same time.

He then sat in his place, raising his hand to signal them to relax. The leader noticed the gaze of the elders, full of doubt and expectation.

The elder with the long beard was the first to speak.
