The moment their eyes met, Jiang Qiu’s steps slowed. His index finger gave a slight twitch.

Jiang Qiu quickened his pace. The girl struggling with the large wooden tub was framed perfectly in a gap between the buildings where the sunset streamed through, bathing one side of her smiling face in warm light.
