Yu Ziqing struck with precision, instantly killing one of the formidable foes.
Intense power erupted within him, his Qi-Blood surged like a raging river, and the cold Qi from the outside world seemed to no longer exist.
He took a light breath, and as his gaze swept over the remaining three, the boiling Qi-Blood within him suddenly exploded. As the dust beneath his feet slightly stirred, his figure had already shot forward several yards, rushing straight toward the three men.
The scar-faced man let out a fierce shout and spat out a mass of black mist, accompanied by the rustle of insects. It flew straight towards Yu Ziqing.
However, Yu Ziqing remained expressionless. In his mind naturally appeared the information collected earlier, and at the same time the opponent moved, he bit his tongue, and a mouthful of scalding blood transformed into a sharp arrow, flying out.
The Blood Arrow pierced the black mist, instantly producing a sizzling sound. Before his figure even arrived, the Short Sword in his hand had already left his grip, turning into a streak of silver light, piercing through the black mist.
Yu Ziqing followed closely, and in the blink of an eye, the black mist rolled and dispersed to both sides. Yu Ziqing grasped the Short Sword, pulling it from the scar-faced man’s mouth, moving like a leopard striking, and continued toward the other two.
In just a few breaths, four corpses lay on the ground.
Last night, he had collected all the necessary information about the four people. The once rusted junction of the Short Sword and the sword scabbard showed a slight gap, a hint that the original rust had started to fall away slightly, also symbolizing that the decision was finalized.
Whenever he struck, he could always take down his opponent.
Holding the Short Sword, Yu Ziqing pondered slightly, stepping forward to deliver a final blow to each.
These fellows were extremely sinister. Who knew what Evil Skill they still harbored?
Based on eavesdropping on these guys chatting in their awkward dialect, they occasionally mentioned some fun when talking about others.
So and so from the Evil Dao got slaughtered, and was so thoroughly dealt with that their spirit and form were completely obliterated, hence why certain places couldn’t be visited for recent years.
Piecing bits together, Yu Ziqing came up with some most common methods to completely eradicate threats, avoiding routines where "even as ghosts they wouldn’t let you go."
Sever the head and burn separately, gouge out the heart to feed evil beasts, slice the body in half for suppression on both banks; pierce the three seas, seal the coffin with talismans, and so on...
Completing such a set meant they wouldn’t even have the chance to become ghosts.
On the contrary, casually burying them or mere cremation increased the chance of them turning into Fierce Ghosts or Evil Ghosts because of the intense resentment, even cases where incompletely handled resentment birthed consciousness as Evil Incarnations seeking revenge.
What more was there to hesitate about? Yu Ziqing did his best with existing conditions to give these guys a full set.
Moments later, using scavenged oil, he lit two fires, tossing severed hair black whips and other sinister items into the flame for cremation.
Before he sorted through everything else, Yu Ziqing’s Qi-Blood, as vibrant as a blazing sun, quickly faded and vanished with the gust of wind; in an instant, he reverted to his original state.
His figure emaciated, cheeks sunken, with barely any strength to straighten his waist, as the surrounding cold wind seemed to materialize out of thin air, causing him to shiver.
The silver Short Sword that exuded biting cold Qi also reverted to its original form.
The sword and sword scabbard were rusted shut thoroughly together, indicating there was no longer a target to unsheath the sword.
All recent experiences seemed like an illusion, only the memory of that power flowing like instinct hadn’t yet dissipated.
"Cough..."
Yu Ziqing lightly coughed, distancing himself from the stench and burning smell of the bonfires, stuffing scavenged portable items into a sack, and casually tucking it into his embrace.
Circumventing the mountain’s foot, arriving on the other side, a long-haired ox still lay on the ground waiting for night to pass, and over a hundred goats huddled together, shivering from the cold in the mountain hollow.
Aside from that, no living person was visible...
Seeing Yu Ziqing approaching, from the herd, an old goat, lean to the bone, squeezed out, trotting eagerly to Yu Ziqing, lifting its head to look at him, bleating incessantly.
Yu Ziqing squatted down, tugged at the corners of his mouth, revealing a bright smile, looking pure and innocent.
"Old sir, you didn’t expect it, did you? I didn’t die. It’s all right now, just when those sinister guys were about to strike, a master suddenly appeared...
"Uh, just that kind of master descending from the sky, gleaming with radiance, poked those four guys to death with a finger, and then vanished again."
The old goat stared, even more anxious, clearly not believing Yu Ziqing’s tall tale.
Yu Ziqing laughed heartily, then earnestly said, "Well, that was just something I made up. Actually, I have a special power that I didn’t intend to reveal, but I was pressed hard and suddenly awakened, allowing me to briefly become a great master, with Qi-Blood like a dragon, impervious to all evil.
"Those sinister guys couldn’t hurt me at all. I took them down with a sword each, like killing young chickens, easily slaying those four."
Before the old goat could say anything more, Yu Ziqing directly led it around the mountain’s foot to let it witness the still-burning bonfires.
In the faint view, the burning bodies in the bonfire could still be seen, arms almost as thick as Yu Ziqing’s waist, who else could they be but those four formidable ones.
The old goat seemed somewhat dazed, now had no choice but to believe Yu Ziqing or accept that a passing master just rid the evil on a whim. There’s really such a slight possibility after all.
