My eyes remained soulless as I stared at my wife. I barely showed any emotion at all. Even my wife’s hatred and hostility couldn’t reach my heart.
As I was about to walk over to her, she used all her strength to push herself out of the wheelchair, only to fall to the ground.
She growled, her eyes red and wet, trying to crawl across the ground using her shoulders and the movement of her torso.
"I don’t need your help."
I ignored her anger and picked her up, but she struggled fiercely against me, relentlessly cursing me.
I sighed before embracing her tightly. My left arm locked around her legs, while my right arm held her torso firmly.
"I hate you!" Her face twisted with anger as she bit into my neck, blood trickling down.
It was quite painful, but I simply ignored it and headed out of this place. I didn’t want to become a spectacle for the students to watch anymore.
As soon as I reached the exit of the yard, Lancelot stood there with a smirk.
"Arthea. I’m always by your side. You just need to say, ’I’m Lancelot’s wife.’ I’ll save you from this psychopath immediately."
My wife barely reacted to Lancelot’s words. She remained silent and kept her teeth sunk into my neck like a dog that refused to let go of its bone.
I walked past him and headed to our dormitory room.
"How long are you going to keep biting me, my wife?"
Soon, my wife gradually relaxed her jaw, finally releasing my neck. My wound healed almost immediately thanks to my bloodline skill.
She stared at me with tearful eyes, having nothing to say.
The evening sunlight streamed through the window, casting its warm glow over us.
I could see her face clearly.
A flawless face with porcelain-white skin, faint red streaks around the bridge of her nose, and eyes still slightly swollen from all the crying because of me.
I should’ve been moved by this scene. Instead, I barely felt anything.
My wife slowly closed her eyes, the last tear rolling down her cheek. Her face drew closer to mine, and finally, our lips met.
She kissed me.
I thought I might feel something, but no. I felt nothing. I could feel her love through that kiss, but my heart was simply too frozen to be melted by it.
I frowned slightly as a sharp pain shot through my lips, blood trickling down them.
She had bitten my lips.
Eventually, she lowered her head, resting it against my chest. Her voice, barely above a tremored whisper, drifted into my ears.
"I’ll never love you."
I let out a long breath as I stared at the sunset through the window. For the first time, my voice carried a hint of warmth I had never realized it could hold.
"I’m sorry."
Not for the brutality and cruelty I had put her through, but because I would never change.
Even if there were a miracle that allowed me to change, I probably wouldn’t choose it. Because it was my nature.
Tonight, I still slept with my wife. She did everything she could to resist me, but it was all useless.
I would do whatever I wanted with my wife.
Twelve hours later.
I sat in a chair, having breakfast. My wife remained silent as she ate by herself. We hadn’t spoken since we woke up. She didn’t even wake me up anymore, but thanks to my new maid, it wasn’t a problem.
I mentally summoned the system.

I rubbed my chin. It wasn’t bad. I couldn’t deny the effectiveness of the galaxy blanket, which had helped us a lot in cultivation.
I intended to clear the monster gates on the weekend. The academy also assigned students to complete monster gate missions. Depending on the type of gate, we would receive different amounts of credits.
Moreover, the monster gate areas that the academy managed were quite safe and carefully monitored, so I didn’t need to worry about danger.
Once I had earned the amount of credits I wanted, I would apply to establish my own club. It would be the best way to earn more credits in the future and find new tools for myself.
I nodded to myself before getting a few things ready and heading to the classroom with my wife.
However, at that time, a few professors knocked on my door and asked me to come to a room for questioning about the student deaths a few days ago.
As I expected, they had already found out that Li was the murderer.
The discussion lasted about 30 minutes and went relatively smoothly for Li and me, as I had already prepared the answers. However, it was still a tense mental battle against their questions.
I felt like I had spent all my mental energy in just those 30 minutes. I even thought I should not kill anyone again in academy—it was far too risky and reckless.
Afterward, they left the room, and my wife and I left as well.
She still didn’t speak to me, but I didn’t care much.
I wheeled my wife into the classroom. Plenty of pairs of eyes turned toward me, each filled with different emotions.
Fear, curiosity, and hatred.
They didn’t bother me. It wasn’t the first time I had been hated. Even in my old world, it had been far worse.
We returned to our seats, and a few minutes later, Jonathan stepped into the classroom. I could see the dark circles beneath his eyes. It looked like he had done a ton of work to clean up the mess I had left for him.
His expression darkened as soon as he saw me. Indeed, I had gone from his favorite student to his biggest headache.
It brought back memories of my old world.
My wife slowly parted her lips. Her voice carried a hint of curiosity, mixed with coldness.
"What did you do to Maria?"
I sighed and searched my memory.
"Nothing much. I just wondered what would happen if I struck her head with a shockwave. Would she be able to heal her brain? Well, it turns out her bloodline skill wasn’t as powerful as I thought. It had a lot of weaknesses."
"I, by a chance, disrupted her train of thought by striking her in the head. It slowed the activation of her regeneration considerably. By landing a few more blows before she could recover, I dealt severe damage to her brain."
My wife frowned deeply.
"Her skill still isn’t mastered. At her level, she shouldn’t need to rely on conscious thought to heal. It should happen through instinct."
My wife’s anger eased a little.
"Why didn’t you explain it to everyone? It was just an accident."
My expression remained cold.
"Because I like it. Besides, it wasn’t an accident. I realized what was happening, and I could’ve stopped, but I chose not to."
I added in an emotionless voice.
"I wanted her to suffer for daring to annoy me."
My wife frowned,
"But now, you must face the wrath of the Holy Church. Even if they cannot touch you because of the Pendragon family’s rules, her followers in the academy won’t let you off so easily. They cannot attack you openly, but they will make things difficult for you throughout your time at the academy."
