Genshin Impact: I Can Obtain Adventure EXP

After upgrading his newly acquired Arcane-Level sword technique, Nolan glanced at his remaining 70,000+ Adventure EXP and decided to upgrade some of his other skills as well.

His next target was Kamisato Swordsmanship—he planned to max it out and then fuse it with his other sword techniques.

Just like before, three options appeared:

1. [Clarity of Mind] – Enter a focused state in battle, remaining undisturbed by mental distractions.

- (This somewhat overlapped with "Clarity" from My Style Swordsmanship.)

2. [Cold Aura] – A graceful, fluid sword swing coats the blade in frost, providing some shield-breaking ability.

- (This seemed to overlap with the "North Wind" specialty.)

3. [Snowfall] – Expands the elemental battle environment, allowing for the slow automatic regeneration of consumed elemental energy.

After a brief evaluation, Nolan chose "Snowfall" as his enhancement.

Out of the three, this had the most practical combat applications.

A flood of knowledge about Kamisato swordsmanship surged into his mind.

Breaking it down, Nolan noticed that its foundational techniques bore traces of "Source-Flow Swordsmanship."

However, they were only partially similar. Over the years, the various sword schools of Inazuma had evolved through generations of refinement, making them distinct from their original source.

That didn’t mean they were necessarily superior.

The existence of different sword styles stemmed from differences in talent and understanding—each school was a unique interpretation of swordsmanship based on its founder’s insights and research.

Even though Source-Flow Swordsmanship might be beyond Arcane-Level technique, Raiden Shogun had never restricted its study.

Logically speaking, if it was the strongest, it should have become Inazuma’s dominant sword style.

But it hadn’t.

The reason? It was simply too difficult to master.

Rather than struggling to learn a technique beyond their limits, most swordsmen modified it to suit themselves—even if the end result was weaker.

However, since their foundations were still influenced by Arcane-Level techniques, even these "weaker" adaptations still retained significant power.

This was likely the reason behind Inazuma’s many sword schools.

Despite their evolution, none of them had reached the heights of Source-Flow Swordsmanship in terms of concepts or techniques.

For example, Kamisato, now maxed out, was already considered one of Inazuma’s most formidable sword styles.

But there was still an enormous gap between Secret-Level and Arcane-Level techniques.

Kamisato’s defining trait was its elegance and agility, allowing for fluid transitions between moves.

If the practitioner also mastered elemental energy, they could envelop themselves in elemental power, creating an environment ideal for combat.

This made drawing ambient elemental energy easier, enhancing both attack power and adaptability.

Now that it had reached max level, Nolan’s selection of "Snowfall" further reinforced this combat-environment enhancement aspect.

It significantly improved the sword style’s effectiveness.

Even so, compared to "Boundless Secrets", which could turn ultimate techniques into basic attacks, it still fell short.

A New Fusion Attempt

After some thought, Nolan decided to fuse Kamisato with My Style and Chihayaburu—all three were Secret-Level sword techniques.

Perhaps this would give birth to a new Arcane-Level skill!

A bit disappointing.

Instead of evolving into an Arcane-Level technique, it simply stacked all the Secret-Level traits together.

It seemed like he would need to fuse even more sword techniques to push it to the next level.

Unfortunately, his character panel no longer displayed any available sword techniques for upgrade—and with only 30,000+ Adventure EXP left, it wouldn’t be enough for another major enhancement.

Now that he was temporarily out of skills to enhance, Nolan pondered his next move.

"Come to think of it... when is Keqing finally going to take a break?"

The last time they had discussed training together, several days had already passed.

By now, she should have some free time... right?

"Hmm... I’ll go find her tomorrow."

If Keqing was still too busy, he could always visit Beidou instead.

Not only could he learn her sea-splitting sword technique, but he could also boost his favorability with her at the same time.

"...Wonder if she’s still in Liyue Harbor?"

As for the General, since he was already learning "Source Flow Swordsmanship" from her and would later study "Musou no Hitotachi," it would seem a bit greedy to ask her to teach him other sword techniques before finishing these.

What he feared was that Celestia or its Sustainer would somehow take notice of him. If they deemed him a threat and eliminated him, he’d be doomed.

A being as powerful as Celestia might very well have such means.

However, from what he gathered from the story, the Sustainer seemed to be in slumber, so for now, they likely wouldn’t notice him.

Still, since his strength continued growing just by fighting enemies, he knew that one day, he would reach Celestia’s level. Nolan didn’t want to test whether Celestia would tolerate someone like him.

At level 90, he was still just a small fry in Celestia’s eyes.

But if he wasn’t careful about hiding his growth, once he became powerful enough, he would inevitably attract Celestia’s attention.

Better to play it safe.

Avoid anything that might draw Celestia’s notice.

With that in mind, Nolan decided to check on Mona’s progress in her lab research.

If she could determine Earth’s coordinates, he could find a way to travel through space like Lumine once did—and maybe even return to Earth for a visit.

Fortunately, he had discovered the Abyssal Realm. Hopefully, its monsters were numerous and strong enough. If he really could ascend to godhood in a day, then Celestia wouldn’t be a threat at all!

At that point, he could stand before the Sustainer and say: "Hey there, buddy, mind stepping aside?"

Haha, that would be the safest route.

Nolan had too many beloved girls in Teyvat. He couldn’t afford to recklessly provoke Celestia, as it would put them all in danger.

Unless he first secured them in the Wonderland space for protection, he couldn’t afford to take risks.

But doing so would disrupt their lives.

Especially Jean—she was leading an entire nation. Her sudden disappearance would be a huge issue. He couldn’t do that lightly.

So for now, he couldn’t expose any ability that might threaten Celestia. Otherwise, the Sustainer might come after him.

As long as he didn’t reveal his character panel or attempt to leave Teyvat like the Traveler, Celestia likely wouldn’t care about him.

After all, the Traveler was already absurdly strong—probably no weaker than the Seven Archons—and yet Celestia only intervened when they tried to leave.

There was no point overthinking it.

That level of conflict was still far off.

For now, he’d check on Mona and see how her research was progressing after purchasing that celestial tracking device.

Nolan set aside his scattered thoughts and walked upstairs to the research area.

If Mona failed to find Earth’s coordinates, then he wouldn’t even know what to do once he left Teyvat. He couldn’t just wander aimlessly through the endless void of space.

The idea of finding a monster-infested planet was more of a passing thought. The vastness of space was measured in light-years. Without a spaceship, he couldn’t even leave the Teyvat star system, let alone find a planet teeming with monsters.

And given Teyvat’s current technological level, spaceships were still a distant dream. They would need to develop elemental technology to make a breakthrough.

Or, he could wait for Lumine to recover her full strength and take him on an interstellar journey.

He’d need to take a dual approach—continue advancing elemental technology while also waiting for Lumine to regain her power. And in the end, he’d still have to find a way to slip past Celestia’s Sustainer.

Yeah... this was going to be tough.

Nolan chuckled and shook his head.

A real challenge, indeed.

Second Floor Research Area

There were now three laboratories here—Lisa’s, Sucrose’s, and Mona’s.

Sucrose’s lab was the largest, as she needed space to cultivate various experimental plants. Lisa’s and Mona’s labs were about the same size.

Lisa and Sucrose weren’t around at the moment. Since they had to work at the Knights of Favonius during the day, they only did research here in the evenings or on their days off.

Mona, on the other hand, was here all the time.

Nolan took a few steps and arrived at Mona’s lab. The door wasn’t locked, so he gently pushed it open.

Just as he was about to step inside, he stopped. Right beneath his foot was a piece of paper covered in intricate calculations and formulas.

Phew, that was close.

Her work was just lying around like this, and she hadn’t even noticed? Who knew how long it had taken her to come up with these calculations?

"You’re not worried about losing your notes?"

Nolan picked up the paper, walked over to Mona, and spoke to her as she operated a device on her desk.

"I don’t just leave things lying around. I’m just too busy researching to bother with it right now."

Mona remained completely focused on adjusting the device in her hands.

"Alright, so how’s your research on the stars going? Made any progress?"

Nolan placed the white paper atop a stack of books on her desk. Then, without warning, he wrapped an arm around Mona’s waist, lifted her up, and sat down in her chair—placing her on his lap.

"H-Hey! You—! Stop disturbing me, alright?!"

Mona turned around and shot him an irritated glare, cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"It’s fine. You can keep working, and I can keep holding you. It won’t interfere."

With a playful smile, Nolan rested his left hand on her stomach, which was snugly wrapped in thin black fabric, while his right hand slid down to her thigh, covered in sheer black stockings.

"Ugh! Stop moving around like that!"

With his hands caressing her stomach and thighs, Mona found it impossible to concentrate on her work.

"Haha, it’s already getting late. Lumine’s downstairs making dinner. Why don’t you take a break?"

Nolan’s hands continued their mischief, tracing over her soft abdomen and legs.

Left with no other choice, Mona huffed in frustration and stomped on his foot. She had no choice but to pause her research for now and endure the strange sensations running through her body. Taking a deep breath, she finally spoke:

"This star field has expanded significantly, but I’ve already mapped about 0.3% of it. Many planetary systems follow similar patterns, so unless I encounter some new cosmic phenomenon, my progress should speed up."

"I see. Have you run into any difficulties?"

Nolan leaned in close, planting a kiss on her earlobe as he asked.

Mona pouted and wiped her ear as if trying to erase the sensation. Then, after thinking for a moment, she said:

"Well... Lately, I’ve come across several stellar systems orbiting a seemingly empty region. There’s nothing visible there, and I can’t figure out why."

"That’s probably a black hole."

Nolan recalled what little he knew about astronomy and tried to offer an explanation.

Unfortunately, he hadn’t been an academic genius back on Earth. Otherwise, he could have remembered more formulas and been a much greater help to Mona.

Still, he did recall the basics—Newton’s Laws, the Theory of Relativity, the Laws of Thermodynamics, and concepts like pulsars and neutron stars.

Whether or not it would actually help, he shared everything he knew with her.

Mona listened in stunned silence for a long time. Then, as if a realization had struck her, she suddenly turned around, straddling his lap.

Grabbing his face with both hands, she glared at him in frustration.

"You idiot! If you knew all this, why didn’t you tell me sooner?!"

If he had, she could have made even more discoveries by now!
