- Chapter 1: Welcome To New World
Seeing the duo move into the distance, Lucian relaxed. The facade he was keeping of being all cooperative with them faded away along with his smile. Seeing them from the corner of his vision, he remembered their conversation.
The world is so much more complex than I could’ve ever thought... the systems aren’t some application but an actual whisper of a dead god...’ Dhruv shivered a bit, remembering how he had to constantly check the system.
Not with his quirk, he can’t even forget this moment any longer.
’I have to send someone out in the world to gather more information. I can’t take their words at face value.’ Whatever they were lying or not was another thing, but Lucian knew that they weren’t telling the whole truth.
’There aren’t any scouts left... I have to summon some of them soon.’ Thinking he opened his status and looked at the bottom of the panel.
At this moment, I have a total of 1100 dungeon points. I can get around 300 from the rest of the humans.... What to do with the goblins’ corpses? Will the dungeon exchange them for the dungeon points... no wait, wouldn’t it be better to use them to fill the codex?
If sacrificing them contributes to increasing their ancestrix, wouldn’t I be able to summon a better-tier monster... why do I have a feeling that this bastard of a dungeon wouldn’t let me do it?
For some reason, the dungeon was hell-bent on making his life difficult, and Dhruv was a little sceptical whether this shortcut would even work or not.
If it worked, he would have a surefire way to increase the tier of the summoned goblins. If not, then he has to find some other monster to summon, as the fight can’t be won only with tier ones.
It was already fortunate that they had won against these hunters with the combined effort of strategy and deception... but the tricks will only work against those with a small gap in strength.
An absolute gap can’t be covered with tricks alone... strength is unconditionally needed there.
Forming a connection with the Matriarch, he asked about the progress on the corpse collection.
[How much is left?]
[Collecting... half... done..]
Disconnecting the connection, Dhruv ordered the blacksmith, [Go with the warriors and separate items from the corpses. Do it neatly...understand?]
[Yes, master.]
The reply came, and Dhruv cut the connection. Now free from any dungeon-related work for some time, he put his attention to his recent evolution.
’Sigh!! Let’s check the quirk first...’ Thinking, he opened his status and read its description once again. After thinking for a moment, Dhruv found the point in the past he wanted to go.
’Let’s watch my betrayal...’ Although it clearly mentioned that no action would change the past, he wanted to at least see for himself.
Closing his eyes, Dhruv leaned back slightly and activated the skills. As the mana moved out of the core, his consciousness slowly slipped into darkness.
In an instant, Dhruv found himself in the same warehouse where he was killed by his own teammates. Before he could do anything, a sound reached him.
"Just give me the cube, boss..."
Hearing those words, his lips quivered slightly. Beads of sweat formed on Dhruv’s forehead as panic slowly gripped his chest. His breathing turned uneven, and his hands trembled without control.
Even knowing this was all nothing but a lie, he couldn’t stop his heart from pounding in his chest.
’Nothing is real... and anyway it has happened already.’
Taking a deep breath, he curved his lips a little and put his hand in his coat. Bringin the cube out of it, he presented it to the man, "Do you want it..."
"Yes... yes.." As if intoxicated, the man almost salivated seeing the cube like that.
"Catch it them..." As if playing catch with a dog, he threw the cube in the air.
"NOOO..." Shouting, the man jumped to save the core as his life depended on it.
Bang!!
Before the man could reach the cube, a bullet pierced a hole right in his head.
"WHAT—" Shouting, the wounded on the ground was about to draw the weapon when.
Bang!! Bang!! bang!!
A bullet struck each of their heads, and all four collapsed to the ground before they could even understand what had happened. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
’Even knowing this is fake... this feels good.’ Peeking out of the window, Dhruv observed the area around the warehouse.
Enjoying the bliss for a moment, he moved closer to the window. Looking around in the distance. Dhruv squinted his eyes as he found something weird with the surroundings.
After some distance, the world around him had begun to blur out.
’So, there is a limit to how I can explore the world here... well, let’s check first whether something changed or not.’
After noticing that the skill was still active, it became obvious that everything had happened exactly the same way. Even so, Dhruv slowly closed his eyes and deactivated the skill.
As the light returned to his eyes, he found that he was still in the same dungeon, sitting on the same throne. With the same emptiness in his heart.
’I guess it was obvious...’ Nodding his head, he was about to activate the skill, but stopped noticing his mana level.
’Ohh! Man, the skill is very mana intensive... even with the increased spirit I’ve drained myself in just a minute or two.’ Sighing, he waited for a few minutes for the mana to regenerate naturally.
After a while, he activated the skill once again.
This time, he appeared inside his house, right in his bedroom.
It was a small and narrow room with only a simple bed and a table inside. A computer rested quietly on the table. Other than those few things, the room was completely empty and colorless.
There were no decorations, no personal belongings, nothing giving off a human warmth. It looked more like a place for a robot than a human.
Not much time on his hands, Dhruv knew he had to move quickly.
Sitting on his chair, he pressed the power button on the computer.
’Fuck this, I should’ve upgraded this long ago...’ Watching the computer take forever just to boot up, Dhruv clicked his tongue in irritation. It almost took half of his time just for this.
"Finnalyy.." Whispering, he moved his hand in a blur and quickly opened the browser. A search bar appeared on top. Clicking on it, he pressed the button on the keyboard.
His heart began pounding wildly after he finished typing, and he waited anxiously for the result to appear.
Understanding that there seemed to be some kind of limitation on the areas one could explore, Dhruv feared that searching the internet would lead to nothing. But to his surprise, not only did the results appear, they arrived one after another without pause, flooding the screen with information he had never expected to find so easily.
"Fuck—" He blurred out instinctively, clicking on the top resulting.
A new page opened, with a title written in big bold letters. And the title of the page was...
... Step-by-step guide on how to build a nuclear weapon at home.
