Synopsis

Alex Norman studied history. Now he's trapped in one that makes no sense. After waking up in an alternate version of ancient Rome, Alex quickly realizes everything he knows is wrong. Spartacus is still fighting in the arena long after his supposed death. Brutus rules a brutal empire. The Colosseum exists far earlier than it should. History has been twisted beyond recognition, and every day is a fight to stay alive. His only advantage is a strange system with a mind of its own—sarcastic, demanding, and only helpful when it feels like it. Armed with little more than his determination and the system's unpredictable support, Alex struggles to rise from the lowest ranks of a gladiator training school. Along the way, he finds loyal companions, falls in love with a woman hiding dangerous secrets, and becomes part of a rebellion that could change Rome forever. But this world doesn't follow history. It follows fate, and fate has gone terribly wrong. The deeper Alex becomes involved, the more he realizes that some stories were never meant to have happy endings. **Sands of Fate: The Wrong Side of History** is the first book in a series where fate keeps making mistakes, and ordinary people are forced to rewrite history—no matter the cost.
