Synopsis

“Damn it… why did it have to be this guy?!” Out of every character he could've transmigrated into, Zen ended up as the absolute worst one. Mikael Morwell. Zen Ashcroft was just an ordinary software engineer living a simple but happy life—until he suddenly woke up inside *Eclipsed Realm*, his favorite game from college. A brutal dark fantasy RPG, *Eclipsed Realm* was famous for its unforgiving difficulty, branching storylines, and multiple playable protagonists spread across the shattered continent of Aetheris. It was already considered one of the hardest games around. Then, on the game's third anniversary, the developers released a free DLC as a "gift" to the players. In reality, it felt more like a challenge. The DLC introduced a bonus protagonist with one unforgettable tagline: **"Some fates are not meant to be survived."** That protagonist was Mikael Morwell. The worst playable character in the entire game. His route was so brutally difficult that he became a running joke on the forums, and most players never even finished his story. And Zen? He never played the DLC. It came out after he graduated, when work, overtime, and endless deadlines had already taken over his life. He never had the chance to experience Mikael's route. "...Yeah. I'm screwed." Now trapped in the body of the game's most hopeless protagonist, with no idea how Mikael's story unfolds and no clue how to return home, Zen must survive a route he never even played.
