I Escaped the Cage, but the Yandere Women Found Me
Synopsis
Cyrus Calder was never meant to escape.
As a male Frostborn, he is extremely rare—so rare that people see him as something to protect, study, control… or lock away “for his own good.” After years of living in a cage disguised as care and duty, Cyrus finally runs.
He ends up in Grayhaven, a quiet coastal city where the sea feels close enough to freedom to make it real.
By day, he hides in plain sight at an academy, just another tired student in a loose uniform, sleeping through classes and trying not to stand out. By night, he works at a small bar called The Full Moon Lounge, saving every bit of money he earns and quietly enjoying the simple life he was never allowed to have before.
Cheap meals. A tiny apartment. A steady paycheck. Walks by the ocean.
To Cyrus, that’s enough. That’s peace.
But freedom doesn’t stay safe for long when too many people realize what he is.
A calm, observant classmate starts watching him a little too closely. A graceful coworker treats kindness like something that can turn into possession. His teacher-slash-landlord checks on him far too often. A police detective claims she’s protecting him, even though she always seems to know exactly where he’s been. And somewhere behind all of them is the woman who once put a ring on his finger—a ring he still can’t remove.
Cyrus only has one defense.
“I lost my memory.”
It’s a simple lie. An easy explanation. A way to keep people from digging too deep.
But it doesn’t hold forever.
One wrong reaction. One flinch at the wrong word. One crack in his calm act.
And the women around him start to notice.
Because Cyrus didn’t just escape a cage.
He stepped into a world where the ones who found him never intended to let him go.
They don’t want revenge.
They want him back.
And this time, they’re not letting him run again.
